MONOMAD : The Unique Clothing of Participants in the Independence Carnival of the Republic of Indonesia

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge

Since the independence of Indonesia in 1945, and 2023 will be the 78th anniversary of independence in the Republic of Indonesia. As usual in previous years, when the time of Indonesian independence arrived, on August 17 a flag ceremony was held, and one day after that a carnival was held which was attended by students from local cities and districts, starting from elementary schools, middle school, and high school.

_{Sejak kemerdekaan Negara Indonesia pada tahun 1945, dan tahun 2023 adalah peringatan kemerdekaan yang ke 78 di negara Republik Indonesia. Seperti biasa pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya ketika tiba pada waktu kemerdekaan negara Indonesia, yaitu pada tanggal 17 Agustus upacara bendera di laksanakan, dan satu hari setelah itu terlaksanalah karnaval yang diikuti oleh siswa/siswi dari wilayah kota dan kabupaten setempat, mulai dari sekolah dasar, sekolah menengah pertama, dan sekolah menengah atas.}

At the carnival I was there and took several photos of the participants during the festive event. One of the photos that I feel is the most creative and unique is of a student acting as a prisoner being put in a cell.

_{*Pada karnaval tersebut aku berada disana dan mengambil beberapa foto peserta ketika pelaksanaan acara kemeriahan tersebut. Salah satunya adalah foto yang aku rasa paling kreatif dan unik ialah seorang siswa yang berperan sebagai tahanan yang dimasukkan di dalam sel.}

The writing above this student's head is "Sel Tahanan" which means "Detention Cell".

_{Tulisan yang berada diatas kepala siswa ini adalah "Sel Tahanan" yang maksudnya "Detention Cell".}

Next was a teenager wearing an anonymous mask, which I managed to capture with my camera lens.

_{Selanjutnya seorang remaja yang mengenakan topeng anonymous, yang berhasil saya tangkap dengan lensa kamera saya.}

Other unique things can also be seen there, interesting creative costumes including the pocong costume which makes people cheer when they pass by the audience who are very enthusiastic about watching the carnival event.

_{Keunikan lainnya juga terlihat disana, kostum-kostum kreatif yang menarik diantaranya adalah kostum pocong yang membuat orang bersorak ketika ia melewati penonton yang sangat antusias untuk menyaksikan pemeriahan acara karnaval tersebut.}

The enthusiasm of the people in enlivening the event could be seen on one of the city street corners where I was standing while taking several photos there.

_{Antusiasme masyarakat dalam memeriahkan acara tersebut terlihat pada salah satu sudut jalanan kota dimana aku berdiri sambil mengabadikan beberapa foto disana.}

The two carnival participants below are wearing costumes with designs made from plastic raffia.

_{Kedua peserta karnaval dibawah ini mengenakan kostum dengan desain yang terbuat dari tali plastik rafia.}

Another unique thing that I share in this entry is a teenage girl who looks like a fairy who wears clothes with newspaper designs.

_{Keunikan lainnya yang aku bagikan pada entri kali ini adalah seorang remaja putri bagaiakan peri yang mengenakan pakaian dengan desain kertas koran.}

Army cars are also there, these are cars decorated to look like military cars.

_{Mobil Tentara juga terdapat disana, ini adalah mobil yang dihias terlihat seperti mobil militer.}

Ambulances are also provided by the committee to anticipate carnival participants who are tired from walking.

_{Ambulanc yang siap siaga juga disediakan oleh panitia untuk mengantisipasi adanya peserta karnaval yang kelelahan berjalan kaki.}

And the ambulance driver was my friend when I was in junior high school. Here is a portrait of himself, his name is Noval.
