We have been busy! This release brings a powerful set of new features to the Ecency mobile app - from AI writing tools and 3Speak video uploads, to a redesigned Waves experience and a more streamlined wallet flow. Here is what is new in version 3.5.3.
3Speak Video & Shorts Upload
You can now upload videos to 3Speakdirectly from the Ecency mobile app - with smart automatic tagging built in. Upload a video inside a blog post and it gets published as a standard 3Speak video. Upload inside Waves and it is automatically marked as a Short. The entire upload flow has been improved and simplified compared to the previous version, making it faster to go from recording to publishing.
AI Writing Assistant
An AI writing assistant is now available inside the mobile editor. Use it to draft posts, improve your writing, expand ideas, or clean up a rough draft - right inside the app without switching tools.
You get a daily free usage allowance to try it out. Need more? You can spend Ecency Points to unlock additional usage. Points can be earned through your regular activity on the platform.
Translate Summary & AI Image Generation Boosts
Two more AI-powered tools land in this release:
Translate summary - summarize or translate any post content with a single tap, useful for engaging with content across language barriers
AI image generation boosts - when generating images, you can now opt for the 2x, 4x, 6x power boost, spending a few extra Points to unlock better reasoning and higher-quality results
Both features tie directly into the Ecency Points system - earn through activity, spend on the tools you want.
Waves Redesigned
Waves got a full redesign this release. The page has been rebuilt with a cleaner layout and several new ways to navigate content:
For You tab - a personalized feed of Waves content
Following tab - Waves exclusively from accounts you follow
Filter by hashtag - tap any hashtag in a Wave to instantly filter the feed to that topic
Filter by user - tap any avatar or username to see all Waves from that person
On top of the new layout, significant speed optimizations make the Waves feed noticeably faster to load and scroll through.
Simplified Transfer Dialogs & Bad Actor Warnings
The transfer and wallet dialogs have been simplified for a cleaner, faster flow. This update also improves bad actor detection - you will see clearer warnings when interacting with flagged or unfamiliar accounts, helping you stay safe.
Image Proxy Server Selection
You can now choose which image proxy server is used to load images across the app. If you experience slow image loading in your region, switch to a server that performs better for you directly from settings.
Unified Server List
The RPC and API server list has been consolidated and unified across the app, making server management more consistent wherever you access it.
PAT & Chat Fixes
Several bugs related to Personal Access Tokens and the chat API have been resolved, improving reliability for users who rely on these features.
Translations Updated
Multiple rounds of Crowdin translation updates are included in this release. Thank you to all our community translators who keep Ecency accessible across languages!
Under the Hood
Routine dependency updates (tar, undici, sjcl, node-forge, lodash, activesupport) keep the app secure and up to date.
