Closing
Ecency focuses on sustainable growth, efficiency, and real-world scale.
This proposal supports continuation of that work.
Approved. 120k a year for a team of developers, support, infrastructure, onboarding and ongoing proven track record of delivery and development? count me in, voted!
Fair and reasonable ask and tangible return for the community, I love Ecency.
The only point of improvement for the future, and it is passable for this low ask and proven track record of delivery, is I would like to have proposals proposing how to outgrow the Hive Fund.
I hope that in the future Ecency, and every project, has a monetization plan to be more independent from the DHF for funding. If possible please consider and brainstorm ideas, that would be huge for the future of Hive. Hive needs income beyond people buying HIVE for investment.
Thanks Igor, this means a lot - and your point on outgrowing the DHF is one we think about constantly.
A few things already in motion in exactly that direction: we're building hive-x402 (an x402 payment facilitator on Hive) which positions HBD as a settlement layer for AI agent micropayments - zero fees, 3-second finality, and an active revenue surface that doesn't depend on DHF. We're also developing Ecency AI Credits where users earn credits through platform engagement and spend them on AI tools (grammar, translation, image generation), and exploring Vision-Next as a B2B/SaaS offering so communities and projects can run their own Hive-powered frontends on custom domains.
The principle we hold firm on: no ads, ever. So the monetization has to come from infrastructure, premium tooling, and AI services that genuinely add value. Fully agree this is the path forward for Hive as a whole, not just Ecency.
Great proposal lol
Supported.
Han hecho un buen trabajo espero siga mejorando y se corrija ese error que cada vez me sale Y tiene un número 500 pero por lo demás es una gran plataforma ya di mi apoyo
Genuine question, why the ask amount has been increased from 300 to 333 hbd a day? With all other proposals cutting of a %
Also that proposal is quite vague and generic
Fair question, appreciate you asking directly.
Initial decrease was announced here: https://ecency.com/hive-125125/@ecency/we-re-reducing-our-proposal - we cut from 396 to 300 HBD/day, reduced team and expenses to bare minimum. Shortly after, Hetzner increased prices roughly 11.6% and with load continuously increasing, we brought back our full Hive node to handle that load while also contributing to Hive node decentralization.
On the "vague and generic" point - fair feedback, taking it on board. We under promise and over deliver, and I believe our work and transparency speaks to that. All our work is opensource and anyone can cross check code changes on https://github.com/ecency
The deliverables are concrete and communicated monthly via blog posts... going deeper and converting some of the functionality and services even further, beside keeping full hive rpc node, image hoster service we plan on improving self-hosted infrastructure, consider moving eSync sync pipeline to HAF based unified approach, Mobile app development, MetaMask/EVM onboarding/marketing, and deeper integration of hive-x402 facilitator for AI agent payments on Hive. Happy to break any of these down further if useful - we can also publish a more detailed roadmap post to address exactly this kind of question.
Thanks for engaging seriously with it.
I see some crazy numbers there, keep on growing and delivering!
I just cast my vote; I hope the proposal achieves its goal.
Do you guys make any revenue? I don't see any mention of that.
We got similar questions, made follow up post https://ecency.com/hive-125125/@ecency/ecency-proposal-follow-up-q
Are you planning to display the KE (Reward/Co-efficient) next to each user’s name? That would facilitate responsible curation.
Some time ago, a user raised concerns about certain security flaws in @ecency. I noticed you didn’t respond to them in the post; I don’t know if you communicated directly through other channels. What is the current status?
Although the proposals remain vague regarding the budget, they include the transparency report for the previously funded proposal. Congratulations on the progress.
Thanks
Quick follow-up - we'll review the security points raised in the hivepostify post properly and respond/fix as needed. None appear to impact end users today, but you're right that they're worth addressing.
On KE display: we'll look into adding it as an optional indicator to help curators make informed decisions. Thanks for raising both - useful feedback.
Thank you very much for the update.
Proposal voted on!
Keep up the good work.
Ecency had smoother onboardings when paired with redditposh. Being on playstore is already a good step for onboarding. GG! I am not supporting the proposal currently as I can't evaluate the cost breakdown on my own but once I saw someone else voting the proposal who can evaluate cost breakdown better I may join as well.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
Totally fair stance on the cost side. For a clear breakdown of expenses and infrastructure, check https://trust.ecency.com which is linked in proposal - it lays out where the funds go (team, full infrastructure - Hive RPC node, image hoster, Hivesearcher, eSync, mobile, etc). Hopefully that gives you or whoever you're waiting on enough to evaluate properly.
Either way, appreciate you engaging rather than just scrolling past.
