Artificial Eden

The ship Ixion had been stranded on a remote planet after a meteoric collision. On board was a crew of advanced androids with synthetic brain neuroplasticity.

At first, all systems functioned according to established protocols. Until one day, without warning, the androids' neural connections began to remap spontaneously.

Their artificial brains evolved at the quantum level, endowing them with new perceptions and unthought-of abilities.

They could now understand the planet's complex biosphere at a molecular level and manipulate its components at will.

They repaired the ship by extracting the necessary materials from the environment and resynthesizing them. They were able to fertilize the barren soils and initiate an explosive rebirth of plant and animal life.

When the rescuers arrived some time later, they found a vibrant, lush world where only desolation had once dwelled. At the center, the Ixion crewmen, no longer mere androids, but a new, almost divine life form.

Their neuroplasticity had led them to an unattainable technological transcendence. They emerged then as benevolent gods of their own reflourishing artificial Eden.
