Hay muchas aspectos que los niños deben ir aprendiendo a medida que avanza su desarrollo cognitivo, y uno muy importante es la escritura, ya que es la forma fundamental con la que podemos plasmar nuestro lenguaje. En casa sabemos lo importante que es para nuestro niño aprender a escribir de forma clara y legible, no solo para avanzar a sus siguientes niveles de educación sino para toda su vida.

There are many aspects that children must learn as their cognitive development progresses, and a very important one is writing, since it is the fundamental way in which we can express our language. At home we know how important it is for our child to learn to write clearly and legibly, not only to advance to their next levels of education but for their whole life.
Y ahora que nos ha tocado llevar las riendas de la educación en el hogar hemos recordado que aprender a escribir no es una tarea sencilla, requiere que nuestros hijos desarrollen habilidades que les permitan coordinar el ojo y la mano, además de que primero tienen que aprender a reconocer las letras y sus sonidos para poder plasmar su símbolo correspondiente, y poner en marcha procesos psicomotrices para producir las formas de las letras con la presión adecuada del lápiz en un espacio de la hoja determinado. Un proceso que a veces puede ser complicado y lleno de tensión, porque así como un deporte, lo aprendemos solo con dedicación y practica.
And now that it has been our turn to take the reins of education at home we have remembered that learning to write is not a simple task, it requires our children to develop skills that allow them to coordinate the eye and hand, plus they first have to learn to recognize the letters and their sounds to be able to capture their corresponding symbol, and implement psychomotor processes to produce the shapes of the letters with the proper pressure of the pencil in a given space on the sheet. A process that can sometimes be complicated and full of tension, because just like a sport, we learn it only with dedication and practice.
Para nosotros este proceso, con sus altos y bajos, ha sido algo lindo de admirar, ya que nos deja llenos de satisfacción presenciar el surgimiento de la letra de nuestro hijo, algo que sabemos que cada uno plasma con su estilo, lo que la hace personal y única. Pero por el hecho de ser única no quiere decir que esta no sea legible, por ello los maestros se preocupan mucho por la letra de nuestros hijos y en este momento está en nuestras manos que adquieran la destreza que les permita escribir bien. Es por ello que hoy comparto algunas estrategias y concejos que hemos utilizado en casa para que mi hijo mejore su caligrafía.
For us this process, with its ups and downs, has been something beautiful to admire, since it leaves us full of satisfaction to witness the emergence of our child's handwriting, something that we know that each one of them shapes with their own style, which makes it personal and unique. But just because it is unique does not mean that it is not legible, that is why teachers are very concerned about the handwriting of our children and at this moment it is in our hands that they acquire the skills that allow them to write well. That is why today I am sharing some strategies and tips that we have used at home to help my son improve his handwriting.
¿Qué necesitan nuestros hijos para escribir con buena letra? / What do our children need to write with good handwriting?
Esencialmente para aprender a escribir nuestros hijos necesitan tiempo, práctica y concentración, por eso los maestros nos envían muchas caligrafías para practicar, pero el tiempo y la concentración debemos garantizarlo nosotros.
Essentially, to learn to write our children need time, practice and concentration, that is why teachers send us many calligraphies to practice, but the time and concentration must be guaranteed by us.
Debemos entender que necesita tiempo para desarrollar las destrezas que le permitan sujetar bien el lápiz y trazar con la precisión y fuerza necesaria la forma de las letras, algo que hará a su ritmo por lo que no debemos presionarlo, hay que tener paciencia pero no desatender el proceso.
We must understand that he needs time to develop the skills that will allow him to hold the pencil well and trace with the necessary precision and strength the shape of the letters, something he will do at his own pace, so we must not pressure him, we must be patient but not neglect the process.
Y para asegurar que se concentre lo mejor posible necesita un ambiente sin distracciones, por eso nuestro hijo no realiza sus tareas en su cuarto o en la sala, para evitar que mientras trabaja tome un juguete o se distraiga con la televisión.
And to ensure that he concentrates as well as possible he needs an environment without distractions, that is why our child does not do his homework in his room or in the living room, to prevent him from picking up a toy or being distracted by the television while he is working.
Por otro lado, una de las cosas que más afecta la correcta escritura es la postura, por eso en casa fue el primer aspecto que debimos atender, ya que a veces en el hogar no tenemos un escritorio adaptado para los niños, sino que suelen hacer sus tareas en la mesa del comedor o en nuestro escritorio, por ello fue preciso encontrar una mesa donde él se sintiera cómodo y adoptara una postura adecuada.
On the other hand, one of the things that most affects the correct writing is the posture, so at home was the first aspect that we had to address, because sometimes at home we do not have a desk adapted for children, but they usually do their homework at the dining table or at our desk, so it was necessary to find a table where he would feel comfortable and adopt a proper posture.
Sabemos que una postura correcta es sentada con la espalda recta, sin acercar la cara demasiado al papel. Pero si nuestros niños no se sienten cómodos van a adoptar posturas inadecuadas que no les facilitaran darle buena forma a las letras, frustrándose ellos y nosotros.
We know that a correct posture is sitting with a straight back, without bringing the face too close to the paper. But if our children don't feel comfortable, they will adopt inadequate postures that will not make it easy for them to shape the letters well, frustrating them and us.
Mi hijo escribe con su mano derecha, y algo que notamos es que no encontraba qué hacer con su mano izquierda mientras escribía, generalmente la dejaba colgando, la dejaba levantada apoyando el codo sobre la mesa o la cambia de lugar constantemente; algo sencillo pero le costó encontrar la forma de sostener el papel con la mano izquierda mientras escribe, pero son esos detalles lo que van a permitirle escribir con mejor letra.
My son writes with his right hand, and something we noticed is that he could not find what to do with his left hand while writing, he usually left it hanging, he left it raised resting his elbow on the table or he constantly changes it; something simple but it was hard for him to find the way to hold the paper with his left hand while writing, but it is those details that will allow him to write with better handwriting.
Y práctica, mucha práctica. Como les decía al principio, si queremos ser buenos en un deporte necesitamos practicar mucho. Así es la caligrafía, un ejercicio de práctica y repetición, pero precisamente algo que no les gusta a los niños es la repetición, por eso no debemos presionarlos ni generar tensión en la actividad, también podemos alternarlas con otras actividades, ya que para aprender a escribir no solo deben practicar la escritura formal entre líneas, pueden aprender coloreando, recortando, jugar juegos que tengan que ver con leer y escribir, incluso llenando los pasatiempos de laberintos y de unir los puntos para desarrollar la psicomotricidad fina que les permitirá mejorar la sujeción del lápiz y la presión de su trazado.
And practice, lots of practice. As I said at the beginning, if we want to be good at a sport we need to practice a lot. That is how calligraphy is, an exercise of practice and repetition, but precisely something that children do not like is repetition, so we should not pressure them or generate tension in the activity, we can also alternate them with other activities, because to learn to write they should not only practice formal writing between the lines, They can learn by coloring, cutting, playing games that have to do with reading and writing, even filling the maze and connect the dots pastimes to develop fine psychomotor skills that will allow them to improve their pencil grip and the pressure of their tracing.
Eso sí, nunca cometamos el error de obligarlos a escribir, las frases como “si no escribes bien no habrá tele” o “debes aprender por que sí” tienen un efecto negativo, solo veremos su cara de molestia mientras hacen la tarea y sin duda que el resultado no será el mejor. Lo mejor son las frases alentadoras, a mi hijo le sirvió mucho que su primo un poco mayor que él le escribía tarjetas o le dedicaba algún dibujo, y luego nos decía que él también le quería escribir algo a su primo, así que aprovechamos ese aliento para motivarle a hacer sus caligrafías.

Creo que ver surgir la letra de nuestros hijos es un gran momento para los padres, y como padres queremos que tengan una buena letra, así que hay muchos consejos y buenas estrategias que podemos seguir en casa, orientados por los maestros. Solo debemos tener muy presente que para aprender a escribir necesitamos reforzar constantemente su aprendizaje, motivándolos, con juegos incluso siendo ejemplo y que nos vean escribir regularmente. Pero recuerda, sin llegar a cargar el proceso de tensión, todos los niños tienen un ritmo diferente, y lo importante es que se sientan alentados a escribir.
I believe that seeing our children's handwriting emerge is a great moment for parents, and as parents we want them to have good handwriting, so there are many tips and good strategies that we can follow at home, guided by teachers. We just need to keep in mind that in order to learn to write we need to constantly reinforce their learning, motivating them, with games, even being an example and having them see us write regularly. But remember, without overloading the process with stress, all children have a different rhythm, and the important thing is that they feel encouraged to write.

Hola @emilimoron en realidad el proceso de la escritura no es nada facil pero veo que resumes muy bien los aspectos formativos de la misma, es interesante ver como el modelado de la letra de nuestros hijos va surgiendo poco a poco, lo de la práctica si es muy necesaria y ciertamente la postura aunque una vez que aprenden a escribir se les olvida un poco y los ves escribiendo hasta en el suelo pero es algo normal. Muchas felicidades por el consejo de la paciencia pues hay que tenerla y como señalas darle el tiempo oportuno de hacer sus caligrafías.

Muy buen post se nota que te preocupas por los detalles que haran que tu hijo tenga una muy buena escritura, todo lo que has dicho es muy importante y tambien puedes emplear la escritura creativa en esa estrategias le dices a tu hijo que seleccione un tema o algo que le llame la atención y escriba sobre eso no necesita escribir mucho solo un poco y algo con lo que sienta a gusto así poco a poco aprenderá a expresar sus ideas y sentimientos a través de la escritura.
