We have a big garden, half of which we don't use anymore as the other half is more than enough to grow fruits and vegetables for the family. That half has always been used for corn but lately growing corn was more like a burden as lack of rain made it impossible to have a decent harvest. This is one of the reasons we decided not to grow corn anymore. The other reason was the rotation. That land was used to grow corn for decades, which is not ideal. Rotation is recommended instead. Never plant the same plants on the same place, rotate them, otherwise diseases will spread and kill everything.
This is why that piece of land was given to a neighbor farmer who is using it for growing lucerne, that is needed to feed cows. So the lucerne was growing nicely and after reaping he decided to not reap the land anymore.

One day this beauty has shown up on the land. She's young lady, not long ago she was roaming around the pasture with her mother. Last year I had the pleasure to pet them both. Her mother got sold (my heart was aching when I heard), now she's alone and was let to use this lucerne land.

Unfortunately I'm not there, the photos were sent to me (sorry for the quality) but I hope I can meet her soon. I guess I'm going to play with her half a day and take tons of photos. Who can resist a beauty like this? Can't wait!

Unique blonde haired horse, is this a warmblood?

Unfortunately I have no idea, I know very little about horses.
Thank you.
Hope you keep her company as the mother has been sold
That's the plan. I was very sad to hear her mom was sold. I coul not sell an animal but I understand.
What a cool looking horse, love the bleached blond mane.
It's a great feeling to help out the neighbors, we live in a very rural area of Upstate NY with so few people, those of us here are a very tight knit community. Sharing space, trading goods and helping each other with the big projects is our way of life.
We are blessed! Nice post!
What you've described here is a healthy community. We also have that at a smaller scale. The owner of this beauty is doing some land work for us in exchange for using the land.
@erikah you said it, a healthy and happy community, nothing like sharing the wealthy so to speak.
Enjoy your day!
Awhhh... She's a beaute 🙂 so adorable
