One of the most expected tournament of the year is ongoing right now and I could not be happier. There's a lot at stake for a lot of users as this is part of the ATP Tour Masters 1000.
One of the first shocks was caused by my most favorite player, the giant John Isner was not able to defeat Brandon Nakashima and had to leave the tournament after the first round. He gave everything he had as the first two sets both ended in tie-breaks, but unfortunately Isner lost both and the third set ended by him winning only three games. Important to note, he still was able to serve 26 aces.
Cristian Garín had a good start as he was able win against Norbert Gombos in four sets, saving some energy by not playing a fifth set. I'm looking forward to watching Garín go as far as possible this time. He has a lot of potential and in time he's going to get high up, where he belongs.
Andrey Rublev was also able to win the first match against Ivo Karlović in just three sets, saving some energy for the next one. Poor Ivo Karlović had the misfortune to meet one of the top players too early.
Andy Murray vs Stefanos Tsitsipas, a match of high importance for both players, that did not end well for any of them. The Greek was able to defeat Murray in five sets, but as it was expected, he continued his lengthy bathroom routine, he actually had two eight minutes bathroom breaks, that pissed off the Brit, who after the match said Tsitsipas was cheating. This is getting ridiculous, it has already become a habit and making everyone not only suspicious but angry as well. All the Greek can achieve is turning everyone against him, which is not something a player wants. He couldn't care less though as he's continuing his ... whatever this is. In any case, he has lost me as a fan and I don't think he can change that.
Aslan Karatsev had an easy day with Jaume Munar as even though he lost the second set and needed four sets to win, it wasn't a difficult one.
Andreas Seppi vs Márton Fucsovics, this was one of the most amazing matches of the tournament. I had no idea what to expect, honestly, as I only knew Fucsovics, I've seen Seppi for a few times but can't say much about him. This is why it was very interesting to watch and see what happens. The first four sets ended with 2 - 2 and the decisive set ended in tie-break, but what a tie-break! It's safe to say I've never seen one like that. 15 - 13 in tie-break? Usually one of the players give up mentally early but not this time. Unfortunately Seppi was more efficient this time, or just lucky as the result was decided last minute, till then no one knew whats going to happen, but to be honest, both were great and deserved to qualify for the next round, which obviously is not possible.
Pablo Carreño Busta, the Olympic medalist was also unlucky as he could not get past Maxime Cressy, which is a shame as I'd have loved to see him more. It was the second mot amazing match and kept me awake till 1 am as the tie-break was a must watch. Just as in case of Andreas Seppi and Márton Fucsovics, there was no way to know who's going to qualify and this made it even more interesting. I was hoping Carreño Busta will make it, but he didn't.
Fabio Fognini vs Vasek Pospisil another match that ended in tie-break, after five sets and the loser in this case was the Italian Fognini. Fabio is continuing his downward evolution. It wasn't easy for Vasek Pospisi to win, he had to work hard for the victory, but he did it and that's all that matters.
Karen Khachanov vs Lloyd Harris! I've been waiting for ages to see Lloyd Harris playing and yesterday finally the day came. Lloyd is not among the favorite players, so unless he is playing with a top ranked players, the match is not broadcasted in tv. Karen Khachanov was seed 25 at the US Open, so the match was of important.
Harris started out well, winning the first set, but then mistakes started to come more often than it should have, resulting in the South African losing the next two sets. I was concerned at that point as mentally it's not a good thing to lead in the first set, then lose the next two. Not to mention that Karen Khachanov has won an Olympic medal this year, which is not something to neglect.
In the fourth set unfortunately Khachanov fell and hurt his leg, after which he had to request medical help. After that his game wasn't the same. Harris profited from the occasion and won the next two sets.
Overall I'm glad Lloyd won and I get to see him playing another time at least, but I can't stop thinking if he would have had the same result if Khachanov wouldn't have been injured. Not that it matters, but still. Harris was good though, even though he made a lot of mistakes that he shouldn't have. Let's see his next game. He has a lot of potential, he's talented, it's time to up the tempo!
Gaël Monfils, Jannik Sinner, Matteo Berrettini, Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Bublik and Lorenzo Musetti were also able to qualify.
Lorenzo Sonego had a bad day, he played 3 tie-breaks against the German Oscar Otte, of which he was able to win only one and lost in the end.
Novak Djokovic has no problem winning against Holger Rune.

This the long awaiting tournament the whole world is waiting for and lovers of the game.pls i encourage everyone to watch the most exciting game in the universe.
Did you watch Novak? Was a tense one for a bit 😄
No, I couldn't. I was happy to see Harris and the Spanish. Too many matches at this point.
