This is @eskandar, and I hope you are having a nice day. On this occasion and taking advantage of the fact that I will soon finish the semester, I thought I would increase my level of commitment to this platform and make at least 3 posts per week.
Since getting topics is a bit complicated, I wanted to practice by joining the "Blogging Challenge " (one post topic for each day of the month).
As I chose part one, the first topic is about "explain the name of your blog", and it so happens that there is a story behind it and now you will know it.

Les habla @eskandar, y espero estén pasando un lindo día. En esta ocación y aprovechando que dentro de poco voy a terminar el semestre, pensé en aumentar mi nivel de compromiso con esta plataforma y hacer al menos 3 publicaciones por semana
En vista de que conseguir temas es un poco complicado, quise practicar uniéndome al "Blogging Challenge" (una tema de publicación para cada día del mes).
Como escogí la parte uno, el primer tema se trata de "explica el nombre de tu blog", y da la casualidad de que si existe una historia detrás de ello y ahora la conocerán.
¿Why "@eskandar"?
The Origin
The reason for this goes back a few years, long before the pandemic. Back in the days when I was in high school, my friends would play various things on the internet, many of them online RPGs or shooters, but the one they played the most was "League of Legends".
I didn't have internet at home and at that time I didn't have a neighbor who was so considerate as to spend the internet that way, but by fate, in a cyber near my house I had that game and a good internet service. I said "this is it, I'm going to play LOL with my friends", and without thinking much about the money I decided to create an account. Because of this the need for a name for said account was born.
The Method
In light of this new need, one day I went to visit a friend's house and because he had internet and also played LOL, we set out to get me a decent (and representative, worthy of my name ;-) username. I had been curious about the origin of my name for a long time, so we started searching to see if we could find something useful.
At first we didn't get anything, so now we went on to look for the translation of my name into different languages and its meaning. We went to English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Latin, Persian and Greek, being Persian and Greek the indicated and worthy ones for my name. Not only is "Eskandar" the username, it also goes "Ciro". Homologous with my name, which is "José Alejandro", my full and real user is "Ciro Eskandar".
The Meaning
The first part of the name, "Ciro", comes from Persian and means "throne". I liked it because it has 4 letters, the name has presence and alludes to a figure of power. On the other hand, "Eskandar" (my username on Hive), comes from an Iranian variant of the Ancient Greek for "Alejandro" and means "he who defends the innocent", this was the main reason I embraced these two words.
Together they mean:
"Throne of the One Who Defends the Innocents "
Which I loved and felt entirely identified with. In the end I didn't use it in LOL, the cyber closed soon after and I also didn't have enough money to play so frequently, a sad twist in the plot of my life. Fortunately, this name has served me well for many things including Hive.
¿Por qué "@eskandar"?
El Origen
La razón de esto se remonta a unos años atrás, mucho antes de la pandemia. En los tiempos cuando estaba en el liceo o secundaria, mis amigos se la pasaban jugando varias cosas en internet, muchos en juegos online RPG o shooters, pero el que más jugaban era "League of Legends".
Yo no tenía internet en mi casa y en esa época tampoco tenía un vecino que fuera tan considerado como para gastarle el internet de esa forma, pero por zar del destino, en un cyber cerca de mi casa tenía ese juego y un buen servicio de internet. Yo dije "aquí es, voy a jugar LOL con mis amigos", y sin pensar mucho en el dinero me dispuse a crearme una cuenta. Debido a esto nació la necesidad de un nombre para dicha cuenta.
El Método
En vista de esta nueva necesidad, un día fui de visita a la casa de un amigo y debido a que tenía internet y que también jugaba LOL, nos dispusimos a conseguirme un nombre de usuario decente (y representativo, digno de mi nombre ;-). Tenía curiosidad por el origen de mi nombre desde hace mucho, así que nos pusimos a buscar para ver si conseguíamos algo útil.
En un inicio no conseguimos nada, así que pasamos ahora a buscar la traducción de mi nombre a diferentes idiomas y su significado. pasamos al inglés, francés, alemán, ruso, japonés, latín, persa y griego, siendo el persa y el griego los indicados y dignos para mi nombre. No solo es "Eskandar" el nombre de usuario, también va "Ciro". Homólogamente con mi nombre, que es "José Alejandro", mi usuario completo y real es "Ciro Eskandar".
El Significado
La primera parte del nombre, "Ciro", proviene del persa y significa "trono". Me gustó porque tiene 4 letras, el nombre tiene presencia y hace alusión a una figura de poder. Por otro lado, "Eskandar" (mi nombre de usuario en Hive), proviene de una variante iraní del griego antiguo de "Alejandro" y significa "el que defiende a los inocentes", esta fue la razón principal por la que acogí estas dos palabras.
Juntos signifcan:
"Trono del que Defiende a los Inocentes"
Cosa que me encantó y con la que me sentí enteramente identificado. Al final no lo usé en LOL, el cyber cerró al poco tiempo y yo tampoco tenía el dinero suficiente como para jugar tan frecuentemente, un triste giro en la trama de mi vida. Afortunadamente, este nombre me ha servido para muchas cosas entre las que se encuentra Hive incluido.
