Another day at the home studio, this time the subject is fruits. That’s my breakfast up there waiting, I haven’t even had coffee yet, so I wanna get this thing over with and get my reward food.
I wanted to do something really simple, though I am not sure if that was what the assignment said, but I never follow the rules anyway so it doesn’t matter.
I have an old window that I borrowed from homehome for photography purposes, the only clear glass I have here so that’s the tray for my cut up fruits. I’m using the big ass softbox as a backgroud to blow it up pure white to give room for what ever size I want the background to be and have text on it for a banner or whatever. I tried first just to bounce the light back to the fruit but it didn’t work, so I added a smaller light onto the side and that brings just enough to light up the underside of the fruit. This would be a lot easier if I was using just clear glass with no frames, but I think I can make it work.
Now I’ll crawl back under my setup and take a few more shots and play around.
WONDERFULLY captured! Nice job, @eveuncovered
Definitely find a single pane of glass! Another thing to do with a single pane of glass on a table top is setting up fruit, veggies, cocktails, etc, and capturing the subject and reflection in the glass.
I will say, even without, this is an amazing setup. I love the Tethering, too! Are you using TetherTools?
Thank you very much! You got it, the orange cord is unmistekable. I’ve only used it a few times but for product shots and things like these, it’s sooooo nice to have. Though as I’m currently using Lightroom with it, it’s a bit annoying, I might at some point get CaptureOne because it’s actually designed to be used with tethering.
Oh, interesting. A good friend loves using Lightroom with it. time for me to see how it works, before making the leap.
Definitely have a go at a trial version of CaptureOne as well.
