We’re hosting an Independence Day dinner tomorrow so I’ve been in the kitchen all day cooking.
I actually started the preparations a couple weeks back by making the cake, filling it and crumb coating so I only have to pour over the mirror glaze and add some decorations. Meanwhile the man made an extension for our kitchen table so it can finally seat six people.
I’ve been getting everything together for a couple weeks, from decor and cleaning to food and drinks. We made a final quick stop to the grocery and liquer stores in the morning and then I prepared all of the foods to a point where I have very minimal work to do tomorrow. I even put down tablecloths and laid out all the serving bowls, trays, plates etc so I know I have everything I need.
Tomorrow I can get myself ready without hurrying, finish the foods, set the table in peace, and then enjoy the fruits of my labour.
