When I come to Veliky Ustyug, where I have lived for more than thirty years, I always want to remember something from the past. This is where I was born, lived, and started photographing.

If I could give myself some guidance from the past on photography and on life in general, then I would be brief.

I would say to myself: capture everything! Life, people, events.

And live according to your conscience! Although she saved me all my life, that is, its level is quite high.

I would also advise myself to listen to my soul and heart more.

...Sixteen years ago, I bought my first digital SLR camera. At that time, the DSLR (even the crop) was considered not just a tool, but a kind of attribute of majority...like a mountain bike with speeds in the early 00's.

Now I have a "full stuffing" that I don't even think about. If they had seen me with such a set of equipment, I think I might not have made it home...well, or at least it would attract the eyes of everyone.

Even now, passersby still occasionally pay attention, but in general, this will not surprise anyone...actually, there was no such goal, and there is no such goal.

Today, of course, the camera is much more perceived as a tool than before: at a time when something was lacking (high-quality lenses, a camera of a higher class and other accessories), the status still occupied a certain percentage.

Now I want one professional camera and one universal lens for all occasions – my neck, shoulders and back are beginning to suggest that all these super-telephoto lenses and a large set of equipment behind my back will not give me anything but health problems.
