Will it bloom again?

Sad thing to say, but I might be saying good-bye to this guy soon.
I really hope I wont have to, but he is not looking good.

It is y very first Gymnocalycium cactus and I have had him for 4 years or so. It was blooming every year with those gorgeous, delicate white flowers until last fall. And as always left him outside for the winter time with all the other cacti. During that time it turned red, which can be normal for them due to stress. And I though the stress was because it was cold and he was getting no water.

Well... not quite. In the time when all the other cacti started to wake up and grow/bloom, this one just kept being red and there was no sign of growth. I took it out from the pot and it turned out he barely had any roots. They all just died (rotted off). The cactus itself looks fine, so I cleared whatever was left and let him dry up properly. Today I potted it in fresh and dry soil and I hope some new roots will start to grow.

It would such a pity to lose this one.

Awww - I hope the pretty cactus is going to pull through, so you can shoot many more photos like these. They all look awesome!

Thank you!
I hope so too. If now, I will have to buy another one :p I adore those flowers!

Oh! No! This has a strong fighting spirit! Hope he will be alright.

Hope so too!

Such a lovely flower! I like how you isolate them against a dark background when you photograph them so there's no clutter and they're in all their glory! 😊

They are such small plants they would disappear with messy background. I like that black behind too.
Keep it simple :)

Omg maybe need some time...

I did love your black n white photos

I hope that's all it needs now. I will keep an eye on him.

Thank you! :)
