Old news, guys (i mean bots)
Remember when a bunch of fucks kickstarted a campaign to make "Star Citizen"? 6 years ago?
As of June u r able to spend 28000 (twenty eight thousand) dollars to buy yourself all the ships at once, instead of progressing through, what i assume is, a tech tree.
So they made a campaign to raise money to make the game. They achieved their goal and started making it. Depending on how much u pledged, u could get whats essentially a collectors edition - u get a cool ship and some sort of "lifetime warranty", in case the ship breaks don in the game (?!?!?!).
Then they made a bunch of hangars and ships to showcase them and let u view the assets u paid money for. AND THATS ESSENTIALLY IT. THATS YOUR GAME. 6 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT, OVER 200 MILLION DOLLARS IN FUNDS AND THERE ISNT A GAME TO PLAY.
Right now u cant play any of it, but u sure can buy more ships. Now u can even spend 1000$ do be able to spend 27000$ to buy more of them, without even having a go at any of it.
The game looks cool, right? Its got ships, multiplayer, u can have a crew, big ships, exploration on foot... Cool. Is it cool enough for u to buy a picture of a car for the price of a car? How cool would that picture have to be? Who r u gonna impress with it? R u even gonna be able to access those assets in 10 years?
I remember discussing this "business (read: scam) model" with an idiot from development team of Space Engineers during his stream. He defended it. U can just pump money into a video game to have a model viewer, games not rdy and whats most surprising for me is that there r actually idiots around, ho did spend multiple thousands of dollars on it already.
I dont know how many times i can repeat myself, saying how dumb this idea is and how dumb ppl r for paying for it. Would u buy a shirt i made, that says "bragging rights certificate", if i offered it for 5000$? I wouldnt. Theres a lot of things i dont do business-wise. Like i dont make videos, where i scream at a calm, little stream. in the wild U know why? Cuz its dumb. And i think ppl r smart enough to think its dumb - thats why they wouldnt watch it. And yet they do.
Dumbass i mentioned defended all this ith THE CAPITALISM, by saying "things r worth as much as ppl r willing to pay for them". Im not willing to pay for it. Does that mean i should get it for free? Apparently not - it means its only available to those, whod spend 28k$ on it. Obviously...
All that reminds me of 2 things: dont pre-order anything and dont pay in advance.
I hope at some point, preferrably soon, majority of ppl, who put money into this scam starts applying for refunds. Its like Space Engineers again - the game has 4 years no, its still in beta, year ago it wasnt even in alpha, they r already selling it as done product - what incentive do they have to keep working on it? They already earned the money. They can just leave. Star Citizen earned 200000000$. Why work anymore? U already bought the model viewer.
Some1 plz hit the Exterminatus button already - the stupid reached the critical lvl.
