EIP related commitment

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday, I made a post about my thoughts about EIP and mentioned some points why I want it to be implemented. And as I read more opinion about it, I'm convinced that it is the better direction that the steem community should take.

Before I state my commitment for the platform, let me breakdown my thoughts in two opposing view or mindset.

As a content creator

This part of me is saying that "EIP" will be spelled as "RIP" for the Steem ecosystem.

"I don't want to create contents and give 50% of my probable earnings to someone that simply press the upvote button..."

"This is not a fair distribution since I'm the one making all the hard work while someone else is taking a big chunk of my probable earnings for their few seconds of effort..."

"The 50/50 rewards distribution will only widen the gap between the Whales & Minnows and so I don't want to be part of this madness..."

As a Curator

This is the part of me that is excited about EIP and I'm not even an Orca or a Whale.

"This is such an encouragement! I will be able to support quality content creators and earn a good amount at the same time..."

"With EIP, my time for scouting contents will be worthy enough to get me out of selling my votes and actually perform my responsibility as a curator..."

"I have sold enough of my votes and earn a lot Steem which I converted to Steem Power, it's time to give back to the community and support deserving authors using the stake that I have..."

Those are two contrasting mindsets that I have for EIP. And as much as I want that other users to have the same mindset as the "curator side of me", I can't dictate what they should think or should do for the steem ecosystem.

Even though I have contrasting mindset about the upoming changes to the platform, I have decided to go for the EIP's solution to improve the steem ecosystem. Even though we are a diverse group of individuals and we don't usually agree with each other, I still envision the steem blockchain as a place where great individuals can thrive. It may not be the perfect place but, what I'm impressed about everything that is happening here is the fact that it is evolving with the goal to improve itself.

My Commitment

If EIP is implemented, I will put more effort in my curation work and do my best to scout and reward the deserving authors of Steemit. My stake may not be a huge difference to an author's reward but if there are a "100 or a 1000 of us" who will make the same commitment then it's gonna be a game changer for the steem ecosystem.
