What do you think is a good motivation for Steemit users to comment & engage more on posts?

Hello Dpollers!

I have been wondering what makes some posts acquire more comments more than the other posts? What makes a post more engaging compared to others?

Several months ago, at the time when the price of Steem is at its peak, I have seen how much activity is churned in a single post by a so called Steemit "influencer". Nowadays, some posts from them isn't attracting much engagement lately. This is not a generalize though, you may even consider this a poor judgement or comparison. It's understandable that several Steemit users lack the motivation due to the fact that price of majority if the crypto are underwhelming.

That being said, let's set those thoughts aside and have a poll on what makes a post really engaging. What are the aspects of it that makes a Steemit user leave a comment or even a long conversation about a certain topic.

In this poll, I hope to understand more about your feedback and explain a little further on why chose that answer.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Posts about Steem are always among the most popular ones. I have the impression Steem(it) is a great tool to solve the problems caused by Steem(it).

At least you have an interest in knowing. Engagement with others is the key.
Everyone is different in what they like.
The best to you in 2019!!

@steem-bounty is also a really great way to create a lot of engagement.

I have noticed that there are many steemians who not only upvote comments but also ask leading questions in response to the comments. I found this to be very useful for the following reasons:

a) Very engaging
b) Elicits different points of views allowing participants to broaden their knowledge and most importantly to understand that people have their own model of the world and that is why they act the way they do.
c) Allows you to reward the commenters according to your own criteria.

Thus my answer would be: Upvote with rewards and ask leading questions.

Here is my shower-thought on my own answer: This ('Poster upvote all comments') might be a result rather than the cause. Asking to upvote all nonsense could be to steem-version of aggregating as much clickbait-output as possible, rather than bringing deep thoughts to the discussion wich than in return could be engaged on (is this real English?!).
I hope that steem becomes, after a settlement-phase, something that is capable of providing such a platform where its people gather to form a healthy community.
