Weekend-engagement topic week 71: The animal in you

in Weekend Experiences3 years ago

dazz (3).png

Our animal origins are constantly lurking behind, even if they are filtered through complicated social evolution.

Richard Dawkins

I figured it was as good a week as any to tap into our animalistic natures and so the topic this week revolves around you and your animalistic side! The idea is to have some fun so don't take it too seriously, just take a look at the topic options below and have at it!

The #weekend-engagement concept is simple; respond to the topic in the comments below then stay around and engage with others - On Monday 18th October I'll split some hive between a few who respond to the topic in the comments below.

Weekend-engagement topic week 71

➡️ Option one:

Tell us what animal real, mystical (or alien even), you want to be and why

Or

➡️ Option two:

Choose a hive user - Tell us what animal they should be and why

✅ Answer in the comments below
✅ Be creative and have some fun
✅ Add an image if you would like
✅ Engage below in the comments
❌ Don't drop links to external posts

Read this bit so you know what to do.

⬆️ - ⬆️ - ⬆️ - ⬆️ - ⬆️

That's the topic folks; you have until Sunday night to get your response into the comments below and I hope you'll stay around and get friendly with some of the others who participate as it'll be good to see you around over the weekend. Have a great weekend whether you engage or not though - Life's too short not to.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that I want to be a cat. You can see it in my profile pic. This is because cats are the coolest animals in my opinion. They live life on their own terms. Some people think they are aloof, but they can be very loving. They just don't usually put up with crap. Cats, more than any other animal I can think of, are rugged individualists. They like food, cuddles, and a comfortable life. That is why they came to live among us.

Cats live in the moment. They sleep most of the time, and they do whatever they want. They don't have to worry about money or paying bills. I know that not all cats have a good life (but they should!) However, cats know how to enjoy life when the opportunity to enjoy it is presented to them. They enjoy it just by existing, being peaceful, and purring their time away.

Downside: I do not think I would enjoy eating mice or, alternately, cat food.

I only see one problem with wanting to be a cat, and that is the human interference of spaying, and neutering. If there was no chance of that, then a cats life would be grand.

Oh yes. That. Let me rethink cat.

You could hope to have a nice owner that would not let that happen, unfortunately it seems to almost be law in a lot of places.

I'm a nice owner, so, I would hope that I would get a nice one too. That only works if they are not forced into it, but, have a true love for their pet.

I held out for 4+ years on Samantha. 4 long years of a monthly psycho attack kitty in heat. 4 years of monthly blood donations by claw and fang. I will have to throw down and say the spay/neuter comments are understood by me. But are the lesser of the evil in the catworld. As the kitty mating ritual is brutal. It would be flat out rape in the human world.

20160315_092831.jpg

So kittens for all. But not homes for them all sadly. So we spay and neuter when we can...

A1 Sammi's First Photos 9-2010.jpg

It was kitty hell until I had my baby spayed. Poor thing didn't know what hit her, but, it sure sounded primal.

It's all better now. Thank goodness.

They are so CUTE. Let me guess, the boy is the favourite?

He's such a pretty boy but honestly she is so loving, you almost have to favor her. He does mischievous things and gets into trouble oh, she would just as soon follow you around and then go to sleep on your lap continuously purring

Interesting because the boys are usually much more affectionate. Reminded me of a friend of mine who came to me quite anxious to say that there was something wrong with Zara , my kitten because she was "vibrating"

In the end, it is a lot less frustrating on all concerned, cat and owner. They still have their purr boxes even after the spaying.

No really...

We have 180 claws in here.

9-indoors. And 4 (another 80 claws) outdoor ferals left behind by sub humans. We built them a sanctuary shed.

Hey You asked...

I have rescued around 50 or so in the last 11 years with Sammi Jo's inspiration and help...

This little kitten pictured here started it all...

So. Another true confession. I have a good friend whose last name is Catt. He lives in a place called "The Catt House". His wife takes in rescue cats, also. Far as I know Herman is her only permanent resident-He's my favorite because he only has one eye.

Anyway, I'd like to send a copy of your Cat House to show him what a real cat house looks like. With your permission, of course.

That is very cool lodging! Man they have better accommodation than some people lol. I love the staircase too. You guys did a sterling job!

You don't like the idea of being neutered???

Not in the least for myself, for cats and dogs that are pets yes I think they should be spayed and neutered.

No, not today. Spayed. Spayed. :)

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like doing that job myself...

BEING neutered, or NEUTERING. Big difference.

So. Just before Sam came here from the pound (I mean the day before) he got the hack job. He thought they said tutored and was really happy to go to school and didn't understand why he woke up with that lampshade on his neck.

Good for Sam. I remember well the lampshade on my old girl, it was a difficult time so cumbersome for her and so many things went flying off the coffee table that for a while it was an empty table. (she was kind of a small dog).

Now that comment there I LOL'd and showed to @pooky-jax

Tutored... Priceless

I have no idea the tools involved, but even the idea of the tiniest of scalpels makes me pucker up pretty well. :)

A little "snip, snip" isn't all that bad. It's only a problem if the vet is Edward Scissorhands✂️ Meowww!🙀

He would make a terrible vet.

Yikes!!!

Hi, Denise, can I tell a joke related to the topic being debated here. I also know your love of horses. I'm trying to keep this as brief as possible...

A guy brags he can neutered horses with just two bricks. Asked how he does it, he says he holds a brick in each hand and slams them hard against each other, of course with the horse's "objects" wedged between them. Horrified, someone asks him if it doesn't hurt. The guy answers ... only if I catch a finger between the bricks!

My girlfriend who has a lot of dogs can't stand to listen to any jokes in which they are in pain or involve pain. Do you Denise, @dswigle, do you mind that?

Actually, it really horrifies me, Dan. @bluemoon I had to have my female spayed as she was the object of unwanted attention in the neighborhood. She was supposed to be an indoor cat, but, she made her escape.

She was put to sleep and spayed in the most humane way possible. I may be ignorant but know of no other way to protect her from unwanted attention and pregnancies.

Well, I am pro spaying and neutering for sure because, in the long run, it saves cats a lot of heartache, and, in the short run, although it seems a perplexing experience for them, it only seems mildly traumatizing (compared to, say, drowning a litter of kittens, which is what used to take place, and is unconscionable). As a woman, I know many women who have had hysterectomies, which is the same as spaying a cat. I think it would be nicer if the vet could do a tubal ligation for the girl cats and a vasectomy for the boys. More humane. However, I am not a vet, so there might be some technical surgical challenges of which I am unaware. If I were a man, I don't think I would want to be neutered.

Spaying and neutering are really needed. Even if a person plans on keeping their pet indoors, accidents do happen and pets do get out. If a person wants a new pet it really is not hard to find one to adopt.

Every time I think of wild cats David Bowie and his song Cat People pop to the forefront of my mind, these two lines in particular:

See these eyes so green
I can stare for a thousand years

and:

And I've been putting out fire
With gasoline

He had a great video to go with that song also.

Cat People was, first and foremost, a great film.

Yes it was a very good movie.

Yes, a classic film now.

Yes, and then some illegal poacher would shoot me. Nooo, thanks though.

Juss' Sayin'...

WTF are they doing in China.!?!?

0.jpg

Oh noooo!!!! Illegal now! Dammit.

Dude they eat and use everything over there. Like it's not actually even funny. They literally EAT EVERYTHING

I know right...

Bat Soup..?

untitled.gif

Ohhhh!!! Did you hear that purrrrrr? OMG! I want one!

Depends on what cat?

Big Cat
untitled.gif
Fast Cat
untitled.gif
House Cat
untitled.gif
Food taste would vary....

I'd be happy being a cat too, although I'd have to be my cat as I look after them so well. This raises an issue though as I can't be the cat and the human at the same time...Or can I?

That's sort of existential. I would want to be my cat maybe, because I am very kind to my cats, but it would be even better to be my fiancé's cat. He is very, very sweet to the cats. They follow him around like baby ducks.

That whole being both the cat and the owner reminded me for some reason of the movie "Being John Malkovich." It’s been a while since I saw it, but everyone was Malkovich as I recall.

You really should see the movie "Being John Malkovich" - I really remember enjoying the show. Maybe time to watch again.

It's the weirdest thing - before that movie I couldn't stand the actor John Malkovich. After that movie he seemed ok but for the life of me I cannot actually remember what happened in the movie!

When I saw him in RED, he became one of my favourite actors. It's so weird because I used to detest him.

hmmm - now I can't remember RED - and was just thinking I need to watch Becoming John Malkovich again. He is one of my son's favourite actors and that always influences someone

Oh you have to watch RED again then. It's one of my favourite movies - it is just so ridiculous and the cast is brilliant.

I think this was John Malkovich's best role ever.

@galenkp That's two votes for your seeing "Being John Malkovich," but, obviously, your movie viewing is not a democracy. lol.

Great movie

Lol...Well, I might have to bow to the will of the people and get it watched!

Hmm, I've never seen that movie so can't comment on it...I'd like to see a movie made called, Being G-dog's cat...Now that would be something to see!

Funny! If you enjoy movies, you should look it up. I remember only scenes from it, but I remember that it was excellent. Maybe I will watch it again this weekend.

I recently saw "Free Guy," which was not nearly as good a movie, but it was fun and I enjoyed it.

I watch a movie or two, not sure why I haven't seen the one you mention, I've seen it listed on my payTV. Maybe I'll check it out someday.

Which one? Either way, you will probably not regret it. I mean, I don't know your taste in movies, but both were really good in different ways.

I say we auction you off in your cattiness and we will see who gets you. Good luck!

Haha...You mean a G-dog as a cat charity auction? I reckon I'd get at least $1. (USD, not AUD)

Well, we will see, wont we? Can you strut? Purrr? What are you talents?

Can you strut? Purrr? What are you talents?

  1. Sleep in
  2. Eat
  3. Hug (best hugger in the world)
  4. Purr
  5. Strut
  6. Shoot
  7. Hug
  8. Sleep

That's pretty much it. So...Maybe we need to call it $0.50. (USD of course.)

Wait! Bazinga!! You shoot! $2.00!

Those actually seem like perfect cat skills. Cuddling, hunting, purring, sleeping... you might need to learn to meow if you don't already do so, and growl, of course. I think you might really be able to rake in the big bucks at a charity cat auction. Wasnt there a cat in Red Dwarf who was actually a human? I never understood that. Maybe they didn't have the budget to hire a real cat.

And here's the auction post!

Lol, saw it.

I LOVE IT!!! Next post - G-Dog Cat Auction. If you don't write it, @galenkp, I will, and I expect you to reblog it. LOL. All proceeds to to the next Weekend Engagement.

Winner gets a free flight to Australia for an adventure of your choice (oil infusion making, kangaroo culling, cave living, outback homesteading, garden growing, etc.).

Yes! Do it! I'll vote it! Just tag me!

I'll leave it in your capable hands. I'm not sure if I dread, or look forward, to it. ☺️

Mwahahahahaha!!!!!!

drums fingers together in front of a very sinister smile

Lol.

And here's the auction.

Now you've done it. You broke the universe.

Oh damn it...Still, not a bad thing as I like working with my hands. I'll just get to fixing it.

You had me at Cats.!!

NM Walkabout_1.jpg

Awww! Beautiful cat. What kind of kitty? He looks purebred.

Here is how it all started.

True Story.

Her name is Samantha Jo. And She rescued 2 humans...

Sammi Jo - A Rescue Story

Omg! She is so sweet. I thought she might be a ragdoll. I can't believe you successfully performed emergency surgery on her! Crazy!!! That botfly sounds horrifying. I am so glad she made it. Cats can be unbelievably resilient.

It's funny. My partner was NOT interested in getting a cat and we only got Louie because I was so depressed and he knew how much I love cats. However, Louie, with his big blue eyes, became my partner's buddy. And he (my partner) has thanked me more than once for bringing the joy and love of these cats into our lives.

I feel a bit guilty when he thanks me because it was purely selfish on my part. Lol. I love them so much.

Whenever I am very down, the cats always make it better. Maybe not 100%, but they help in a way nothing and no one else can.

Yes You are soooo right. This kitty Sammi Jo changed both our lives. Kudos to my @pooky-jax for seeing this as it was happening and letting Sammi Jo have the human that she wanted to bond with. Cats truely do choose the people they want.

sammi5.jpg

A7.jpg

2 years later, we got a chocolate point that @pooky-jax fell in love with at first site. Our boy Jax lives for her. I could not even touch him. It took me 5 long years of patience and soft words to finally get him to come to me, accept and love on me.

Jax & Kelly (6).jpg

My wife got her soul mate cat after sharing and enjoying my transformation to what @dandays called me...

"A Catlady in a Mansuit..."

I still am LoL at that comment of his. Funny and also a little bit true I guess? I will own it, cuz I sure do love my best friend Sammi Jo.!!

Now that I did say, "guilty as charged!"

I never told you about my last cat, Pico, that was short for Roscoe Pico Train. Dope ass cat dude, a Manx. I was probably 20 when he died. Crazy ass story, he died the same night as my grandfather, that was a trip considering he lived with my grandparents several times I bounced around from wherever to somewhere else. Funny... my grandfather "hated" cats. That's funny.

A survivor, too. One time the bastard supposed to watch the house didn't when we were on vacation, I was just a kid. The other cat starved to death, he was Himalayan. Not Pico though. He got outside at some point and fended for himself that month.

That cat was dope dude, he came when you called him and could open door handles.

You likely won't find this surprising but I could easily go off another thousand words right now.

If I ever get off the road, and have more time to share. I will have a few dogs again. Probably Siberian Huskies. I miss them. I too have hurt just as badly over the loss of my dogs, as if they were a family member. It still amazes me sometimes, that I can feel this way about a cat. But You read the Sammi Jo rescue story. So you get it right?

Cats are lovely animals and can be so Loving I don't know why I find them too clingy maybe I should try and understand them more ...

Clingy? That's an unusual complaint about cats. Most people tend to say that they are aloof. The wonderful thing about cats is that they will come and extract the love that they need from you. Very little participation on your part is required. I mean, if you want to, great, but have you ever seen a cat rub itself against a box? He or she will do that against your leg or arm or face. If you pet them, they might enjoy it (although some do not), but it is not really required. I love to do it, of course, but I feel my cats "tolerate" my affection towards them rather than really enjoying it. Well, I think they come to enjoy it over time. They realize it is an expression of my love and then they enjoy it, but often, I feel they are enduring my love.

I had a cat years ago who loved being cuddled up by me, but he was exceptional. My cat Nia, for example, has about a five second limit. I can pick her up and cuddle her for five seconds. She purrs, she loves it, and then, she must go. I cannot extend the time. She would not allow it, and it's wrong to keep a cat against his/her will in my opinion.

Then I think I have to study them well before jumping into conclusion
Apologies

No need for apologies! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that is how you get to learn other people's perspectives. One thing I enjoy about the engagement aspect of Hive is how it gives us a window into other people's lives and ways of living that we would not otherwise have. I think it fosters open-mindedness.

I agree with you...that was my thought and getting to see from you point of view now I think I would see cat differently now

They say cats can actually sense electric impulses in humans, and this is why they do this. It's like the oxytosin and dopamine release hoomans get when they love or laugh.

I may need to consider getting myself a cat. Right now I've got a doggy. I grew up with both, and didn't like either. I was not a very good pet person as a kid. Now I am. I think they're fabulous.

Not really but just the fact that they always wanna be around everytime.
Cling with claws? that would be very bad

I think we both think the same way.
And for the claws, you can't take that away from them that what they use as protection it part of what makes them a cat.

Yes, cats, in general, have lovely lives. I've had cats at various times of my life and some very special memories with them

I love cats, although I have a dog too. My son liked dogs and the girls liked cats, so...

Makes sense then to have cats and a dog then

Cat are scary animal to me, they is a saying that, f they bite you, you are done for.
They are moody ad I do not like it, but it nice to hear that you are loving cat and ready to become your cat, how is your own cat?

Tell me about her please

@repayme4568 If they bite you, you are done for? Really? Is that a Nigerian thing or what? I have never heard that. If a cat bites you and breaks the skin, it can get quite infected although I have been bitten by several cats and had it break the skin, and I am still alive! I usually train my cats from a young age not to bite! It takes some effort because cats are not easily trained.

(I do it by refusing to play with them as soon as they bite even a little bit. Then I stop playing for at least half an hour. After half an hour, they forget what they did, and so we can try again.)

My sister had a cat who used to bite me because he was an outdoor cat (I did not approve) and he kept getting attacked by who knows what in a nearby ravine. Since I wanted him to live, I took him to the vet. However, he hated the vet, and he hated me by association, which is why he bit me ferociously.

To answer your question, I currently have two cats: Nia and Louie. Nia is 11 and Louie is 14. I got Nia when she was a kitten, and Louie is a ragdoll (purebred) whose human mother passed away three years ago. Even though he is beautiful, nobody wanted him because he was old and sad, so we adopted him. Now, he is still old, but not so sad anymore. In fact he seems younger, actually. I think it is because of my partner. My partner is very good to the cats.

I am good to them also, but he has a special bond with them, especially Louie. I would be a bit jealous, but you can't be jealous of such things with cats. Cats choose who they want to be attached to and that's that!

It sounds like the cats near where you live are more feral (wild). Is that the case?

@merit.ahama commented earlier today that I usually write insanely long comments. She is not wrong about that, despite my best efforts. lol.

Wow! Cats over there are so lovely, I can feel it, but here is the reversed, we do not play with with them, although, from now henceforth, I will look at cat ,the way you said, Because when you play with them, I guess they may do the same with you, about @merit.ahama thought on your comments, I guess you are not wrong with the way you make your comments, is who you are and that is you, to me you are unique and so is everyone, according to @galenkp one should create his or her own ideal life, to me that is what you are doing, and is nice .

In the side of @merit.ahama she is also good, she is a kind person though, Haven't to meet her some days ago, Maybe she was jusy trying to save you the street of typing, but it cool if you continue tht way, taking advises make one better.

It was because I wrote an uncharacteristically short comment! Lol.

I hope you learn to enjoy cats. If cats are never treated well by humans -- if they get kicked or worse, they learn that humans are trouble, not to be trusted, scary, and bad. They are intelligent and respond to a threat as the predators they are capable of being.

However, if a cat is treated with love and kindness, it will behave with love and kindness. Maybe they are similar to people in that way?

The benefit of cats from a practical standpoint, where human settlements are concerned, is, as you probably know, they really like to eat vermin which can otherwise plague crops and make life less pleasant.

It really nice to hear the importance of cat, honestly, you have changed my view of cat, thank you so much

That is often true, but they also surprise me. For example, the other day, I felt sad and hormonal. I sat on my bed, just feeling sad, not saying anything about it. My partner did not notice, but my cat Nia noticed right away that something was wrong and came to sit next to me, rub up against me, and purr.

The thing is, she rarely does that, so I knew she sensed that I was not feeling good.

It is beautiful how they can sense little shifts in our energy and moods that are so seemingly subtle that other humans cannot detect them.

Cats are not quite bad animals, and surprisingly because the movie industry in my country has always associated witchcraft with a cat 🤣🤣, many people here are scared of cats, especially at night 🤣. This is a wrong mindset.

I believe every animal is created in a unique way that makes it enticing to some, and others find comfort with another animal.

That is very sad. In olden times, when black cats were associated with witchcraft in Salem and in Europe, they were hanged or burned along with witches, and it is terrible. Superstition is actually horrifying when you consider it. I mean, having a talisman that you believe will bring you luck is one thing, but believing that a person or animal is bad luck just because of an inalterable aspect of who they are is terrifying.

Totally in agreement with you on this . If this wrong impression is not corrected , it will be handed over to coming generation and so forth. I feel sad seeing people shouting Holy ghost fire each time they see animals like Bat, Cat and Vulture, simply because if the superstitious story they have been told

A cat or any domestic pet would be good as long as your owner is a decent person.

That is the key. As @galenkp was saying that he would not mind being a cat if he were the owner. Having a bad owner or no owner could be a nightmare.

Yes I agree.

Yep, there's many out there who feel being cruel or neglectful towards animals is legit. It is not of course.

I agree! A terrible person can make a good cat a problem pet. Just like people.

Cats are cute but don't you think they are the laziest creatures?😅

Oh I have heard scary stories of cats hair allergy and what that can do people, I guess that made me have that ill feelings towards cats not looking into enjoying some moments with a loving cat.

Lets see, I think I would like to be a flugerrach from the planet Alineia. Why a flugerrach and what the heck is a flugerrach, and where is Alineia Planet located? Well a flugerrach is a somewhat small critter, that has the ability of flight. No real wings they just get in the way, so they kind of are anti gravitational critters. They can control and manipulate gravity. So one thing you really don't want to do is piss off a flugerrach, they would either take the gravity away from around you and watch you take off into the void of space, or they would just turn it up under your feet and well smush you into the dirt eventually.

The other thing about the flugerrach, they know what you are thinking, so they know when you really do mean them harm, or a friend of theirs harm. They are very rare animals and once they bond with a person or another animal, that bond is for life. So what do they look like you ask? Well they kind of look like a cross between a small chihuahua and a squirrel. (They have one of the fluffy's tail you ever did see, and instead of those cute little chihuahua teeth, they have squirrel teeth, and the front paws are like the squirrels, they are able to manipulate thing with the 'hands'.

Now why would I want to be a flugerrach? Simple I already am one sort of. I have bonded for life with my wife, and as she can sense my moods, I can sense her moods. As I am aging I think taking people out that would cause myself or my wife harm should be done with out real violence, having them float away into space, or be locked in place unable to move would be an ideal solution. (most I would send to space who wants to walk past a poor pathetic frozen starving blob). I would save the frozen and or smushed state for the most serious want to do harm types.

As for where Alinenia is located, well the is a very closely guarded secret.

Note to self: never mess with a flugerrach.

This is a pretty legit animal to be I'd say...Ability to control gravity? Oh the fun one could have with that skill! I also like the send to space thing...There's a few I'd like to send there.

Thanks for your very cool answer. Now...I want to see a photo of a flugerrach.

I don't actually have a picture, I'm not sure anyone does, it is like there is a wavy field around them that just gives a blurry shot. Something to do with using the gravity to bend the light so people can not take pictures of them.

Well... off to bed and maybe flugerrach dreams.

Lol, great answer...The elusive flugerrach. I have visions of flugerrach hunts, you know, like they hunt the sasquatch. That'll keep a few busy for a while I'd say.

Well... off to bed and maybe flugerrach dreams.

Even flugerrach's need their sleep. Night.

You know what happens when you try to hunt the flugerrach, right?

This is a good point...But I think someone won't be able to resist...Not me, someone else.

Not with my drawing skills, I can see it in my minds eye clear as day, but to share the image of what I see, I just am not skilled in that area. Now when they come out with the brain camera I would be able to share.

I love the * the brain camera thingee.*, part of what I really liked about reading for myself my mind would fill in all the missing parts and it would be like watching a long movie.

Yep, a good place for many people. I have a list.

I think I'd like that too. Most people would just get a little gravity bump but I can think of a few that would be to Neptune in seconds. Just sayin'

There are different levels of harmful, and rudeness, and just idiots in general. I can see people trapped in a gravity bubble and others coming by to push them like a beach ball.

This is awesome. So creative. I like the idea of being a small creature that looks cute and innocent, but is psychic and has the power to manipulate gravity. The latter power seems harmless enough. It's not horrifyingly violent on the face of it, but it could cause people terrible harm and discomfort if they were silly enough to displease the flugerrach. That's what I love about it: the idea of something apparently small, cute, and powerless secretly having a large amount of power and the ability to easily protect itself and that which it loves.

Can I change my answer? I too want to be a flugerrach now that I am aware of them. I am afraid there might be a lot of people floating away. Maybe, if I was in a good mood, I would just float them away from me and allow them to have gravity again once they were sufficiently distant from me?

I can sense my partner's moods also. I always think he cannot sense mine, and then he often surprises me by knowing how I feel. It's spooky? Very cool answer.

Thank you, yes those that are only minor annoyances could be lifted and shifted 10 feet away and then dropped back to the worlds surface, can you imagine the look of shock and surprise.

The other thing about the flugerrach, they know what you are thinking, so they know when you really do mean them harm, or a friend of theirs harm. They are very rare animals and once they bond with a person or another animal, that bond is for life.

I love to be it too, but where can it be. Found?

Only on Alineia a planet that is hidden somewhere in the vastness of Space. The planets location is known only to a handful of people.

Wow! thank you so much for sharing

I like this answer. My imagination deaded (it's a word ok?) on trying to picture this thing, failed epically so it's obviously got some serious cloaking stuff going on. This is a pretty cool creature.

Thank you, the mind is a terrible thing to lose, but sometimes it finds strange things when looked at.

WTF..?!?

LMAOooooo.!!!

Not my fault, he did say:

The idea is to have some fun so don't take it too seriously....

My fingers took over after reading that, I had no clue what I was writing, it was like my fingers where just following the flow, and thus a new alien critter. I like chihuahua's and we had a squirrel that like to tease our chihuahuas so I guess my fingers knew what they were doing even if my brain did not.

Strange that You are having these out of body experiences...

LoL

Very close, I will pass the secret on, it is located in the pillow, that little divot that over time the head makes.

Is it located there or is there a pinpoint singularity in the pillow divot that leads to an alternate universe where it is located?

I think it is like a worm hole thing, it only takes the essence of me away leaving the body to recharge overnight.

Always, best way to travel, dreams are free.

Chihuahua back legs, and whole body and head. Chihuahua back legs are pretty dang strong they can jump over two and a half times their height with those little legs. Of course they have chi heads and their ever so cute ears. So really the only squirrel parts are the tail the teeth and the front hands because squirrels are so good at using their hands.

No they definitely do not land softly, the ones that get spaced well they eventually blow up in space or become bloody balls of fire. Even those that are only lifted 10 feet in the air and then set free, fall with a little extra force than normal, thus some broken legs or ankles to remember their transgression by.

It pops out sometimes to see the light of day, not as much now-a-days, but sometimes my fingers just take over.

My nickname as a boy scout when I was 13 years old was "Guirash - Intrepid Puma", a name given to you by the scout leaders depending on your abilities and skills, so I guess there's that.

On the other hand, I used to think of myself as an Albatros.

But, on the realler of the reallest other hands, I was once nicknamed weasel when I was like 7 back when we were playing wild animals that are embarrasing so, I'll stick to weasel.

I used to love finding and watching weasels. They are really social and when you see one you will always see more. Clever and stealthy, a good choice.

Can you believe I haven't seen one in real life? Only in National Geographic shows :(

We used to see them every now and again on the farm I grew up on. I'm guessing I haven't seen one in 50 years or so.

I've never seen a live Ermine (winter weasel). I hadn't ever thought of that...

Weasel? Ok, that's not a bad choice. From what I recall the weasel is highly regarded in myth and legend of certain cultures. So, it's not all bad.

In truth though...I don't mate, I'd say a puma suits you better...You sort of look like one already...A pretty legit handsome puma. Look, let's just agree that puma, albatross or weasel would work well and whichever you are you'd own it! 😁

When you mentioned the three next to each other, while I was reading I kind of imagined an albatros riding a puma, carrying a weasel running into battle, just like that shark meme image.

image.png

Smile.... Is that a dragon an and a fish?
What am I not seeing 🙈

Haha! That's a pretty serious outfit right there. The added weaponry infkem of the RPG adds a next-level of seriousness. Fortunately for the human race this is just a made up image.. Or is it? 😊

@galenkp @anomadsoul
That is an interesting observation about how different cultures perceive different animals. In my culture (if you can call it a culture -- ha!), when you call someone a weasel, it is not a compliment. And the albatross is reminiscent of "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," an epic poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge in which an old sailor killed an albatross (symbol of good luck) and all his friends died (if I remember it correctly,) so he is forever cursed to carry the dead albatross around and tell people the whole tale.

Because of these things, I like the puma image better.

(For those who have not read it, the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, 1834, super long, very good, in the public domain: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43997/the-rime-of-the-ancient-mariner-text-of-1834)

Yeah, In the US being a weasel is something negative. I don't mind though, Weasels are thug af :P
Also, that poem info kicks ass, I now want to read it, thanks for providing a link!

Weasels are very cool. Stoats too. They are hectic little animals - the stats? They can kill an animal up to ten times their own body size and carry it away (animal kingdom take aways for you), I mean think about that!

If that was the case for humans, we'd be able to carry something that weighed a ton!

Not a bad animal to choose

I didn't know weasels were this awesome. Clearly my weasel-knowledge is quite lacking.

A Weasle is a good choice. There are a lot of different varieties of them. I saw two of them in my backyard once and thought they were the coolest thing I'd ever seen, in terms of wild animals

I'm really curious how you came to think of yourself as an Albatros. Like how does that happen? You feeling particularly albatrossy?

Probably because they are the birds that can travel the longest without having to go land, and I guess I find that very appealing.

Ah that's cool. I don't know much about them to be honest

Hahaha, this weasel is only a puma when there are females around methinks :)

I like the Albatross. They can fly for very long periods. But weasels no, no, haha. I don't even ask why they gave you that nickname at 7 years old. LOL

Jajajaja no no, simplemente me parece la más divertida jaja

I guess I have to be a panda - I've been known as pandamama for a long time now. My whole family and many friends refer to me as panda and are always sending me panda gifs and panda video's. I know panda's have a very vicious side as well - and I guess I can also be a not-so-nice panda at times.
On the whole though I really enjoy the panda videos and would love to visit a panda sanctuary sometime
screen_shot_2021_10_15_at_08.30.27.png

I can't be a bad panda however, as being 71 years of age there is never a day that my adult kids don't call me or message me.
My daughter, Eden, who I call Baby Bear because she is my y0ungest, is almost 30 years old. She always tells me that she needs to hear my voice before she goes to sleep at night. That is so precious.
My relationship with my two boys, Jack and Lee is also special and I am a lucky panda/human to be so blessed by my children.
Needless to say I really DO love Panda's. I love watching them play and love watching their interaction with each other.

I think a panda is a legit animal for you to be and it seems, in truth, you're channelling a panda already and have done for a while!

What I like in your comment is what you say about your children. Eden...Cute that she needs to speak to you each night - I like that. Shows love and respect. Lee and Jack? Yeah, them too; It's clear to see through their posts and your own what you mean to them. So...Maybe you're not a real panda but it doesn't matter, you're mamma bear to baby bear and those two lads of yours just the same.

Aww - thanks for the lovely words to warm my panda heart. Yes, I'm most definitely a mama bear - and my children mean everything to me

Clear to see.

Thank you - that means a lot to me

A Panda? I'm surprised 😂

They are beautiful and seem so friendly. I know that they aren't always, but they certainly have a 'cuddly' reputation.

Hopefully that's the one my kids associate with

I like pandas, the only downside is they hardly ever have sex. Which is a big downside if we are honest...

I've always tried to be honest...

They say you're never too old to learn - and thanks - I learned something today - haha

We're never too old to learn

Too true. I feel as if I learn something new each day

I think it is marvellous that you have such a wonderful relationship with your adult children! My daughter is in her early 30's, and I love her so much, but, despite my best efforts, we have a very challenging relationship. She has mental health issues. So do I because I frequently suffer from depression, but hers run a bit deeper than that, which I feel okay sharing because she is very candid about her mental health in public and on social media. She was officially diagnosed with bipolar II, but she disputes the diagnosis and refuses medication. She gets very angry and defensive if I say, really, anything. I find myself walking on eggshells around her.

And then, even though I love her so much, it is very hard to spend time around her, which is sad because our time here is limited, and I would like to spend it with my loved ones.

So, I am always very happy when I hear about people who get along well with their adult children because I think that is how it should be, and it sort of gives me hope. You never know.

Pandas are adorable animals. I would love to befriend a panda if I ever got a chance 😁

Me too. You can be my friend - and I am a Panda!!

Aww that's so sweet of you. I'd be more than happy if I could be friends with a person like you😁

Thank you - friends then. Anytime you need to chat to a panda.

Wow so cool, panda how are you doing today?

I'm well thanks - and you?

Pandas are so cute. And although in reality, they aren't always friendly they seem so cuddly. Besides being an endangered species.
Maybe those are some of the characteristics why your kids call you Panda. It would be nice to be a Panda for a while, hehe

Yes! I love this topic!
I would without a doubt be a hippo!

They look cute, but can be vicious, they are playful, they love food and taking long baths, I mean they just ARE me!
image.png

I have always like hippos and boast a not too small random collection of hippo items in my home haha. My partner thinks it's a bit weird.... But ah well weird is the spice of life!

Happy weekend!

That's a cool choice. I would never have thought of that but it's a good one.

This is a great choice and I reckon you'd make a pretty legit hippo indeed! You know how big hippo's get though right? You'd need a mighty big bath! I wonder though, if you were a hippo would you have a hippo name and if so what and why that choice?

But ah well weird is the spice of life!

This is true, hence this week's topic! 😜

Haha I may need a bigger house for my hippo butt I think haha.
Hmm what would be a good hippo name? Hippoline? (My name is pauline)

Oh, now that works perfectly! I think maybe a bigger house and a bigger refrigerator; hippos eat a lot I heard.

Might turn the living room into a mud pool, gotta keep my skin wet and happy!

This sounds like a most excellent idea. What could go wrong?

That's a really interesting choice. They have no natural predators, basically keep to themselves and don't take any crap from anybody.

Just think how good it would feel to have a couple of birdies on your back picking the bugs out of the folds in your neck. Auto grooming that has to be like a spa day for the hippo.

Hippo spa sounds great!!

Ha! Dangerous and I have seen videos taken here of Hippo's throwing lions and big crocodilies around. One bite from a Hippo coming up from below can snap a canoe in half.
So yes, nobody wants to mess with a Hippo.

Yikes! Who wants to be the bully of the jungle neighborhood?

Hahaha, you know me Lady Denise and I think in reality I would rather be one of our squirrels here at home.

Indeed! Me too! I would rather be a weasel!

Truth. Let's auction off the role!

Exactly! I like to think I could do that too to people messing about with me!

Wow, so you would also like to throw people around.
I would think that it's far easier just to ignore them.

I would love to throw people around to be honest!

Yep, I agree as at a distance it has to be.

I wonder if it tickles when a bird picks a bug off your neck or if it's just sudden relief from a bug wandering around where you can't chase it?

I obviously need more stimulation in my life if I wonder about stuff like that.

I would say it's relief. Unless you don't see the bird coming and you get a fright from the bird...

I think it's a sign that you have imagination. Or at least that is what I tell myself when I cannot rein my thoughts in, which is all the time.

Weird is wonderful! You reminded me of a children's song from a while ago, "There's a hippo in my bathtub," and the classic, "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas." I think the hippopotamus is highly under-rated. Good choice.

I need to look up these songs! They sound like great songs haja

Smile..
Is an hippo cute?
Oh! My goodness, one must have really like things differently, it makes me happy knowing that you like an hippo.

Nice photograph

Haha I always think hippos are very cute! Look at this picture, what a cutie!

Is true, as see it has begining of the very best

That is a wise decision haha, I wouldn't want to cross one either!

A lioness. I am very protective of my babies, even though they are near enough to being adults. I love to purrrrr too. Definitely a lioness.

@tipu curate

Oh yeah, I can totally see it. Or as some say...Totes. 😀

Lioness's are legit. Here's one I took in the Adelaide Zoo - Through the fence of course.

PA100030 (1).JPG

Looks familiar.

Looks like you.

Just a little bit.

Yes! I hear her purrrring!

I love lions - my star sign is Leo - and I think if I wasn't a Panda - I would be a lion.

I'm a Leo too!! Hear me roar? 💖

It's a great sun sign - roaring right back at you - fellow Leo

Hey! I'm glad you're here but...Isn't is 03:30 up your way? Late ate work...Or early.

Just got out. You are just like me. I calculate before I comment. ;)

One must know the time if one knows the location.

I do. Close enough.

Wow! That is so kind of you, is true Lions do protects their babies at all costs

It is true. We do! Watch out before you mess with my babies!

I think that lioness is a serious good choice until it gets to the 'kill, prepare and serve dinner to the dad part.' Just sayin'

Thank you, Tom @bigtom13 I guess I hadn't thought that through. I have to serve the dad? Hmmmm.

Yes and you would have to hunt also with your sisters for poor little bucks while the dad lies sleeping. Doesn't sound like you to me Lady Denise.

I love the lioness. Powerful, majestic, beautiful. And cute too.

Lions really love their cubs - and they're so playful too

What a life! I def want to be one!

Very understandable

I want to be a cheetah because they have a face that is soft yet very strong. They are very visible as a fighter but still elegant.
The Cheetah has an amazing ability in running and hunting for meals, such a philosophy of life must continue to strive to reach the goal. So the cheetah is an animal which is very suitable for me.

So you desire teardrop makeup that is permanent, short fast bursts to get food then laze around protecting the food after you caught it, now totally exhausted after the kill.

Although G-dog in running short and Asics could be another sight... Pondering⁉️

Oh yeah! Now we're talking! Who wouldn't want to be a cheetah! They are fast and smart and look very cool...Let's make a deal, if you become a cheetah I'll challenge you to a running race. I have to warn you though, I have a legit pair of three year old Asics running shoes and some of those really short running shorts...I'm fast!

if I become a cheetah I will continue to run until tired *lol
To be honest, i want to have pets like a cheetah :D

If you were a cheetah I reckon you might beat me in a footrace although I'd keep up for the first 50 metres! Lol.

A good choice @aswita and very good reasons behind wanting to be a cheetah. We must all continue to strive to reach our goals

Cheetah great abilities has been noted over the year's, it is a great thing that you had love for this great animals, nice hearing from you Aswita

It is interesting how our choice of animal reveals so much about our inner lives, isn't it? I really like the way you describe the cheetah as soft yet strong, fighting, yet elegant, resourceful, and tenacious.

Glorious animals. When they run they actually appear to be fluid. They are obviously built to go fast!

Glides through cutting air in graceful design, higher kill ratio than lion then everything else tries to take the prize before it's able to eat.

One of our champion cheetahs here in Africa fainted when he heard that I was organizing a race for him against @galenkp
Just sayin 🤣

as a child I often watched animal documentaries with my father and I remember well that he was always a big fan of the leopard and wanted to be as fast and strong as he was.

But actually I don't feel as strong as a leopard, I would say more than there is a cat inside me 🐱! In fact, there are times when I like cuddles, others when I like being alone. I could stay in the same place for a long time, even just in or
enjoy the sun or the landscape.

Yes, I would say that inside me there is a beautiful cat, not too unpleasant (there are so many of them) but ready to nestle on my legs in front of a nice fireplace and on the TV 😂

Stinking cats. Actually, I really like them-just don't tell my dog. He'd be real disappointed with me.

Back in the early 70s we had a 19 inch TV and our cat liked to lay on top of it where it was nice and warm. We'd occasionally have to chase her off because she let her tail droop over the screen and a fluffy cat tail takes up a frightful percentage of a 19 inch screen.

So adorable. Our cat (Louie the ragdoll) deliberately places himself in front of the television. Even though the TV is gigantic, he manages to block a good portion of it.

"You want to watch something awesome? Watch me. I am a cat."

Exactly that. Sam the dog never, NEVER blocks the TV. He does however usually take up the entire couch so 'reclining' viewing is curtailed for me.

there are times when I like cuddles

Myself - Who doesn't like cuddle time?!

So, you're choosing a cat. I think it's a great option and as cats seem to do lot's of sleeping and get cuddled a lot I think it'd be a really good life. I agree with you and think I'd choose the same...Although I have a few other options too.

since my son was born, sleep has really changed. I would love to sleep like a cat for 15/18 hours a day! a dream! ahahahah

Sleep truly is wonderful. I remember when we first got our cat Louie. My partner did not quite understand cats. After Louie had slept for 16 hours, my partner said, "I had better go wake him up," and I was astonished. "You d0 realize that he is a cat, right?"

"Yes."

"You know cats sleep most of the time, right?"

"Ummm..."

He did not get the memo, apparently. Which was weird because this was not his first cat.

Haha! @harlowjourney
Clearly in my next life I need to be a cat

Louie II or Louie 2.0

People always tell me I need to catch up on sleep. My reply is always the same: "I'll catch up on sleep when I'm dead." Not meant to sound morbid whatsoever. I love to sleep. It's just that there are too many things to do and life is too short. As for cats? Cats don't give a shit about "to-do" lists. They have nine lives to procrastinate!

Lol that's such a cool story. I've never heard of anyone actually trying to wake up their cat for fear of them sleeping too much. That's awesome 🤣

Ahh, glorious sleep, come at me!

What other options might you choose @galenkp?

I'll do a post on it at some stage but something that flies I guess, for the flight reason, and I like cats, so maybe a big cat. I'll get a post done on the topic.

A flying cat thing? I await the post...

Nah, it won't be a cat or a flying cat.

Fair enough. I will still await the post.

Hey G-dog I still reckon a Quokkala is your animal 😉

You're absolutely right. I mean, who wouldn't want to cuddle me if I was a quokkala!

Nice to hear from you, that you choose cat, cat are good though, although I do not had love for them, as you said, maybe I will tried giving cat sometimes and see how they really behave and feel at time's @harlowjourney you @claudio83 choose cat?

I was thinking I would choose that as the second person.
Now what else 🤔

I really like cats (the calm ones) and I relax a lot watching them while they are there doing nothing and they could stay there doing nothing even for hours! I love them 😁🐱

Wow! This is so strong, hearing this from you, really conveys the power of love and what love can do, it a great thing, and I wish I can learn to love cat as you do!☺️

Maybe even the leopard sometimes doesn't feel as strong as a leopard? That being said, I do like the choice of a cat, obviously.

Haha you are right, sometimes I envy cats, they get petted, it's nice and warm. Such a nice life!

This one is a good one...I am going to go with a Sasquatch. I would love to run around the mountains, forests, wherever...and leave traces of my existence everywhere, yet no one would ever be able to find me. Throw in some high strangeness fun that is correlated with Bigfoot (ie Skinwalker Ranch stuff), and who knows what those things get to experience...I'm 100% game!

Great choice!

I imagine you galivanting about the forest leaving prints, wisps of fur stuck on trees and other steaming lumps of evidence all over the place. Then, there you are hiding behind a tree watching some sasquatch-hunter following your false trails and dead ends then stepping in a lump of cooling evidence and swearing bloody murder. There's you sniggering behind that tree celebrating your own devious magnificence.

Here's you leaving the office on Friday afternoon, eager to get to the forest to lay down some steaming evidence.

Here's you celebrating your own magnificence with the sasquatch-macarena.

Yes, a great choice my man, great choice indeed.

Hattie wants me to be a werewolf for Halloween, but thinking I should change it up and go as Sasquatch.

What is the name of Bigfoot over there? Are there any sightings in Australia?

but thinking I should change it up and go as Sasquatch.

Go sasquatch bro...You owe it to me! I want pictures too! 😆

We don't have a bigfoot equivalent although I knew a bloke called Bob who had one foot bigger than the other. The logical nickname was bigfoot although we're Aussies mate so we took it the other way...We called him smallfoot which eventually got shortened to smallsy. There were some that called him superboot though as he could kick the shit out of a football! (I mean an AFL football, not one of those poncy round ones.)

@churchoftheway should be getting into this.

And I of course nominate puppy dog.

Yep that's right puppy dog....

img_0.4391644118107253.jpg

So you'd want to be your current dog or you mean another dog so you can hang out with your current dog? Also, I'm going to follow up with anoter questions mate:

What would be your dog name?

Dog. His Royal Majesty Wooda P von Morgan Haus, Hater of Bunnies, Master of Prancing, and apprentice Tugger of Tugtoy.

That would be sweet to be another German Shepherd and get to pack up and rock life together. Dogs are awesome.

Lol, great name.

#packlife

Yep he is completely a character. Excessive personality for sure.

Love dogs - but lately I haven't settled down enough to have a dog. They really are like children and I remember how much I hated leaving them when I had to go away.

Actually children you can talk to and when you beat them they wise up.

Unfortunately my puppy dog is more like a hyena. Super crazy and super wild. I love him.... But... Yeah.

aww - you have to change your tactics

Oh he gets to do obedience training and obedience drills every time he is getting into trouble. He definitely has a very high standard to live up to. And he's so exceptionally intelligent and you can see it not only in his eyes but also his actions.

Smile...

Puppy dog welcome to the weekend engagement.
How are you doing today.

It's been more than a year since he was this guy...

And now he is huge. 84 lbs. geeze.

hy5P9YoEQIitUkPbIsQSCQ.jpg

WOW beautiful

Most days he is today he's just being a complete wild animal.

Smile

Yep that's about all I can do myself...

I used to be afraid of dogs, and then I got over it, and now, every dog, big or small is a puppy to me. Also, now that I am over my fear, I feel zero fear of any dog ever. This has puzzled some very big, supposedly scary attack/guard dogs. Fear is weird, though. It's either there or it is not.

Absolutely animals can sense confidence and when you don't fear or be self-conscious they are very puzzled.

Nothing more scarier than a prey that is well armed. All predators will pause and think about if the squeeze is worth the juice.

It's funny, isn't it? When I was afraid of dogs, I was afraid of even tiny little chihuahuas. And now, they all seem like puppies.

I went to tutor at a large house that was protected by guard dogs. My student had forgotten we had a lesson, and I didn't realize that this was the sort of large house where you cannot just walk up to the door. It was a mansion sort of house, protected by "vicious" attack dogs.

I walked through the gate and up to the door. The dogs barked at me. "PUPPIES!" I said happily, oblivious. They watched me.

I was less happy when I realized no one was home. I turned to the dogs, "Are they seriously not home? Do you think they forgot I was coming?" I said.

I noticed that one of the dogs was quite scarred and only had one eye. He had clearly been in some fights. With whom, I wondered. That is when it occurred to me that these might not be pets but guard dogs.

"Are you scary guard dogs?" I said. The dogs looked puzzled. Animals usually sense that I mean no harm, so I can understand their confusion. On the one hand, they have a job to do, but on the other hand, I was clearly not a threat.

"Well let your owners know I stopped by. You are very good puppies!"

That is seriously what happened.

I didn't go back because the students' parents did not see why they should pay the cancellation fee. I guess that's how they got so rich? Lol. I don't know. They were reluctantly willing to pay it, but I was not desperate enough to deal with their nonsense. I am way off topic as usual.

Well that's an excellent way to deal with them.

I did canvassing for the Sierra Club and ended up with a clipboard. Ironically when we switched to these palm pilots it ended up getting some of my crew bit. I still carried the clipboard and never had an issue.

But then again I'm always able to see dog sign and that situational awareness pays off.

Good choice. The only thing my dog really has to worry about is if I plop over dead. Then who would get the doggy treats off the refrigerator? Sam doesn't seem to stress over it too much, though.

Now that would be a disaster here, Woody is almost as round as he is high, been there done that, now to think about another animal life....

Yeah staying healthy for my dog is important. What would happen for him if something happens to me. His breeder is going to take care of him. Which is an amazing thing for me.

The uniqueness that makes the eagle stand out among other birds makes me have so much love for this animal.
A bird that flies above the storm
A bird with a fearless spirit
A bird that symbolizes courage amd strength
They are never afraid of soaring above the sky.
Vision and focus is known to be for eagle
As smart as an Eagle.
an elegant species of bird.
Animals are known for special features and the eagle has a lot of special features, an important reason why I would like to be an eagle
An eagle is one of the most powerful birds with a very good eyesight
I chose to be an eagle because of the following reasons
THE ABILITY TO FLY ABOVE THE STORM
The eagle is a species of bird that does not run to shelter for a storm but instead flies above it.
I relate the storm here as life problems I want to be an eagle because I do not want to run away from problems but rather overcome them. To fly over problems.
FEARLESS SPIRIT
fear will only cause damage and it weakens the spirit. There's no positive outcome of fear a life lived in fear is a life of bondage. The fearless spirit of an eagle makes me admire it a lot. Being an eagle gives me an attribute of a fearless spirit, mental strength to face danger.

A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH AND COURAGE
An eagle represents strength and courage. An eagle is also known for strength and courage.
To be a symbol of courage and strength to the weak, to give people reason to be strong is one reason I would love to be an eagle

VISION AND FOCUS

An eagle is known to be an animal with great vision and focus.
I relate this to life, the ability to have a great plan over the future and stay glued to it is one attribute I see as an outstanding one to be an Eagle.
An eagle is a unique bird among other animals, being an eagle will make me unique and stand out .

I'm expecting a few eagle answers and I'd say it's an excellent choice indeed. You pretty much sum it up here in your comment nicely. I think that if I could be a bird I'd probably choose an eagle although I don't mind the albatross also as they seem to have a pretty nice life as well.

An eagle is a unique bird among other animals, being an eagle will make me unique and stand out .

This is very true although I have to say, you are already 'uniquely you' and have the ability to stand tall and 'stand out' through your attitudes, actions, and how you treat others. 😊

Thank you..i thought of being special and boom and Eagle came to my mind...

if you can't be an eagle be special anyway. Those around you will find value in it, as will you.

Yeah this I will hold on to...to help those around me. It a win-win choice.
Thank you for this...

Yes, it's a good choice @ijohnsen

Is that a poem? It reads like a poem, and I like it. I especially like the part about flying above the storm rather than avoiding the storm. This reminds me of a quote by Louisa May Alcott: "I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship." It's a similar idea -- not feeling the need to fear or flee the storms of life, but rather learning how to cope with them in one way or another.

You can call it a poem actually...
But it something I came up with to spice up why I would love to be an eagle...
It helped express myself more and I'm glad you like it

I'm answering first this morning, but I'm guessing my answer will be very similar. I get it.

It all good...

Ah I didnt think of that but eagles are pretty cool. Imagine being able to see the world with an eagles eye, that would be pretty epic.

I want to be an Eagle, I do and so much admired her style.

An Eagle is the king among all birds and the most wisest.

I love it when I became the best in a particular field, just as @galenkp
Say, "Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind"

I know bird can not be compare to others animals in the word, but I choose this animal because I know I can be able to compete and become the best in their kingdom.

Honestly, I want to create my own ideal life, I do not want to live by default that is why, what others are doing and feeling, I do not want to feel and do the same.
I rather want to be me and me alone.

As an Eagle, I become a king in the feathers (birds) kingdom.

Most importantly, an Eagle is wise, so I am wise.

An Eagle do not stress her self while flying, I do not stress while driving.

And Eagle allow the wind to choose her direction and probably achieved the best results in goals achievement.

So never a day Will I stress myself, I will allow the nature mother to choose my path, directs me and comfort me.

Yeah my family calls me an eagle all the time... Lol

That means you must be an angel for sure

Something like that I guess.

Well if that's the way others see me I'm just going to have to live up to it.

Wow! You are so kind, I can see, nice one bro, keep it up

Thank you very much and I hope you're having an amazing day.

Yeah, I am good, how about you

Soaring above the ground with eagle vision is something I'd very much like to do myself. It just feels right.

You know, I once climbed a mountain in the Flinders Ranges, almost a full day of strenuous and difficult climbing, and then sat on a rocky ledge looking down at the valley far below. As the sun moved to the west its rays warmed my skin, soaked into my body. The breezes brought crisp mountain air to my nostrils and the silence brought solace to my mind and soul.

I sat there and watched an eagle soar, powerful wings outstretched moving this way and that as it adjusted its flight and caught the thermals rising off the mountain...It remains one of my most treasured of moments. I can recall wanting to be that eagle.

Thanks for getting involved.

@galenkp That was very beautifully written.

Thank you, much appreciated.

Wow! So sweet ☺️

Wow! That was a great experience.
Climbing of mountains can be so scaring at times,
Didn't you get scared at all, imagining how tall mountains can be, I pray your wish come true someday

Not scared, more concerned I might fall but I did not so it all worked out. 😀

Wow! That is so sweet 🤗

Another one for your book @galenkp

A chapter all of its own I'd say. ☺️

Most decidedly

What a moment Galen, I'm so glad you can recall that to mind whenever you need to.

Yes, it was a pretty cool moment, the entire day really. It was really cool indeed and one I actually got to repeat a couple times in different locations. These days...Hmm, I might have to charter a helicopter to get up there like I did in NZ in 2019 to get to Mt Earnslaw Burn. 😀

Nice. I like the idea of allowing mother nature to choose your path although, personally, I am stubborn and keep trying to steer my own destiny. This probaby leads me to sorrow.

Therefore, from today's henceforth, you are free to join my path, let mother nature direct and guide us

I DO understand. My answer will probably be very similar.

That is cool, if we perceived the same way, it a free world.
If I may asked, what was it about?

I haven't gotten around to it yet... But it will be a bird of prey.

Hello weekenders. Gee I am so late to this party, sorry guys, it's been a week.

I'm very surprised that so many people would like to be domestic cats, I mean they are cool but I think some of you have that funky parasite they carry that makes you their slave lol. I'm not joking guys "The brain-dwelling parasite Toxoplasma gondii is estimated to be hosted by at least 2 billion people around the world, and new evidence suggests the lodger could be more dangerous than we think." Go look it up if you don't believe me.

I definitely don't want to be one of those weird ass creatures. I mean, can you imagine being a tapeworm? Oh my gosh that has to be a pretty shitty existence right?

But it got me thinking about all the different animals - weird & wonderful.

I think I would choose to be a Ratel. Honey Badger for non Saffers. Fierce as anything, quick, nimble, stealthy, highly intelligent & cunning, IMMUNE to most SNAKE VENOM (winning!!!), they are like the fooking ninjas of the animal world. They have enough bravado to take on a lion. Ok fine, they are stubborn as all hell too, but I've already got that trait down pat 😂

I have massive respect for this animal.

Being a Toxoplasma gondii would be a shit life. I mean, no amount of likes on Faceboook would make a Toxoplasma gondii feel good about itself no matter how powerful the validation and relevance-inspiring positivity is that comes from said Facebook likes! It could take boob-selfies all fucken day and post them on Instagram and Facebook but still wouldn't receive the validation and acceptance that others get from doing the same. Nope, I wouldn't want to be a Toxoplasma gondii.

Anyway...

The honey badger is a cool beastie indeed. In fact, the Formula One driver I follow, Daniel Ricciardo from Australia, calls himself the honey badger using the animal as is spirit animal for the reasons you mention.

I can see you as a honey badger actually as it seems to me you display the same tenacity and fierceness of spirit of a honey badger.

So, good choice. But...What about option two Andy? Who are you calling out. Only @krazzytrukker has been brave enough to call out another hive user and call him an animal. So...You up for it?

Yes, that Toxoplasma thingy is creepy AF! They literally can control human behaviour - all brought to us by our lovely feline counterparts.

I didn't know that Ricciardo's spirit animal is a Honey Badger, that is so cool. Good spirit animal for a F1 driver most definitely.

Ok seeing as you're calling me out - I'm accepting the challenge G-dog. You are an animal, but can't understand why your nickname is G-dog when you are more closely affiliated with cats - however in my mind, you are neither of these. While I like the Quokkala, I'm going to change it.

I think you would have to be an Australian Magpie. Now before you get your knickers in a knot thinking this is insulting, hear me out ok?

Firstly they aren't simply aggressive like people accuse them of being - they are territorial and only when they need to be, which means that they are extremely good at threat awareness and diversion tactics. They are highly intelligent and apart from having various vocalizations, one of the main ones is apparently "Mag Mag Mag". There is a Magpie in the cartoon Footrot Flat about farming life who's name is PEW. The affiliation you have with your guns comes to mind here and I think it's fitting.

They are highly emotive for their size and are capable of compassion. They even gather for funerals of family members, it's been documented that they will also gather to discuss the cause of death of a family member and if suspected to be a bird of prey (falcon for example) they will rally their troops and go off to find the culprit.

They are pretty well prepared animals, known to have a "stash" of food buried for harsh winters (or summers or the apocalypse whichever comes first) and some of them even have fake stashes that they will let be demolished by raiders if it acts as a decoy away from their real horded prep supply. They can learn new skills pretty fast as well as teach them to other magpies.

They're pretty well honoured now days and even won the Australian bird of the year in 2017.

And well, of course they do like shiny things occasionally like Casio G-shock Mudmasters and Mont Blanc pens.

What you think G-dog? Think you might be a magpie?

Hmm, ok well I was at first a bit reluctant to let go of my quokkala aspirations because think of all the hugs I'd get. But...You've made a fairly compelling case for the Australian magpie to be honest.

So, basically it's a fucken awesomely prepared, ninja-warrior with mad defensive and offensive skills and an arsenal of weapons including talon, beak and sonic-soundwave attack weapon plus the ability for aggression, compassion and care for one's own. So...Yeah, sounds like the G-dog Andy. Then, you threw in the G-Shock/shiny thing element and hit that shit out of the park!

I'm not offended in the least bit and can see you've thought about this long and hard so...Yep, it's going to happen.

One day you should read my post about that time I shot a magpie using a crossbow I made...I was a kid and it was a bit of an accident. I mean, I was aiming, just never thought it would happen. I copped some hell for that transgression as mum saw the whole thing.

Also, you know noone calls me the G-dog in real life right? It's a hive thing I made up. They don't call me G-cat either but I've been called a pussy a time or two. That probably counts...Despite it not being true.🤪

Galen I'm glad you read it before jumping to defend the Quokkala - I mean it's a freaking awesome animal regarding hugs, but the Magpie I think is better suited.

I have read that post about the Magpie, shame I felt bad for the Magpie and for you, but I was also kinda impressed with the true admiration for your hand made weapon considering you were a kid you know.

Yes I know nobody calls you G-dog outside of Hive lol, but you get called it enough on Hive that it's been solidified as a nickname. 😉

My magpie-crossbow shame...Shooting my own kind! 😩

Yeah, the old G-dog nickname is here to stay I think. 😀

Well Done.!!

Here is what it is like when I post a comment to @galenkp

G-Magpi it is... Lmao

Hey @krazzytrukker yeah I'm sorry, I suppose some of my replies are way too long. At least I try to keep them interesting with copious amounts of useless information, that's gotta be somewhat redeeming?

I write super long comments too most of the time! Twins!

Yes, some of mine I have even copy and pasted into full length posts when they get really long. LoL

You misunderstood. I never meant length. I overdo it with the Giphys is my deal. And the bird kicking the other is my way of saying. I probably bother @galenkp a little by picking on him too much with silly stuff?

Hey @krazzytrukker sorry about the misunderstanding. You're well known as the giffy king and you own it so there's nothing wrong with that.

I doubt @galenkp feels that you pick on him, he's made of pretty stern stuff.

Lol.

One might say you are badgering G-Dog...
LoL

I am glad you do. It gets us motivated. In the form of engagement.
I have met some quite interesting people "animals" on this W.E.

untitled.gif

Go check your Threema bro, I need your opinion on a hotdog I sent there.

LOL...

Just came in from jungle busting. The normal seasonal push back of the over and undergrowth. All 11.73 effing acres of it. Done with about 3-4 of em now. Looks like a frikkin golf course country club when I am done. Too Much to try and keep up with all year. Do it now and not much growth thru April.

On my way to 3ma

And She just hit me with a curve ball by adding a question to you. Where is Grouchy and was it Roxy..?

I told her go sign in and ask... LoL

Great Initiative. This is my first time stumble upon this engagement.

Animal I love to be a horse.
Sometimes ago, I was considering the characteristics of a horse during my mediation when I love someone so dear to me, although he's someone I don't really know physically but so dear to me because he was my online trainer. Majorly, we know horses for their strength, but not everyone knows this creature for its amazing long-term memory skills and incredible loyalties. It's been over a year I lost this my friend but its memory keeps coming anytime I'm online. Research shows that horses that already had some pleasurable experiences with their trainers or were familiar with someone even if that trainer leave them for years, anytime or anywhere they sighted the fellow, were more likely to remember and go ahead to display greater love to that fellow. It also occurs that horse furthermore displays same affection to unfamiliar person when they see the same attribute of the trainer in that person.

Great animal!

@joseph23 come and drop your submission and let the community know the animal you can be!

I really like horses when they are in somebody else's pasture. I spent a lot of time around horses in my youth and wouldn't have made this choice, but certainly understand it. Haven't ridden a horse in better than 40 years. I learned early that I preferred motorcycles...

Yes indeed is amazing and loving to live with this animal

Motorcycles ARE cool, but can they love you? Lol.

Great Initiative. This is my first time stumble upon this engagement.

Wow, the first time you've seen it in 71 weeks? Hmm, well it's all good, you're here now.

A horse huh? Well, they're such a noble animal and I'd say it's a great choice. They are so string, intelligent and have great speed and stamina! Yep, a horse would be a great animal to be indeed.

Please tell me, what would be your horse name if you had to choose one?

I sighted it and marvelled #71 weeks that's a years plus, happy to find this.

I don't need to think otherwise to name my horse Bizz. My friend I shared earlier nickname is TheBizz very intelligent, a great mentor and professional in networking...

Cool name indeed.

Horses are wonderful - another of my favourite animals. I have always had a great love for these amazing animals - and love all books and movies about them too.

Thanks for your comment, i will have a look at animal in you

Thanks - I'm a perfect fit to a panda

Wow. A horse? not quite bad, and all the attributes you listed out about it are quite true. Will arrange my entry and drop it soon.

Expecting to see yours

Hmmmm, Horse is nice though.

I love your styles, it is one of a kind.

You really got love there bro, and I want you to know that, one day you will still meet your friend, it just a matter of times, keep on good hope as always.

And he may also be looking for you now, who knows?

you are very correct

Horses are wonderful animals. I have not known many, but they are very strong and sensitive. When I was training, there was a branch of counselling that used horses as therapist-assistants. I can understand why. I think they bring out aspects of people that other humans cannot always do. Also, they can be very calming. Good choice!

If I were an animal I'd probably be a crow or a raven. I think being a bird would be cool and Ravens are intelligent and generally aren't messed with by humans or other predators. Flying would be nice I think.

Yep, this is cool. Flying would be cool and crows and ravens are kind of cool too.

I'm always reminded of that movie, The Crow, with Brandon Lee when I think of crows. Cool movie. But crows know how to have fun too you know...

I've actually never seen the movie the crow. That's the one where the main actor died on set of a stray bullet that was supposed to be a blank, wasn't it?

Yep, you're right. He was Bruce Lee's only son and was killed on set during the filming of The Crow. Here's how.

image.png

From wikipedia ☝️

That's pretty crazy. Pretty unfortunate event but sort of an interesting one. I'll have to read the wiki article because now I'm wondering if anyone got in trouble.

I can't recall if there was implications. I'd say so though as it was a clear error on the part of the armourer and his assistants.

Have you ever taken/touched/picked up a gun without checking the condition?

With a model 629 you can not only look down the barrel with the cylinder open, you can stick your finger all the way down.

That is just firearm stupidity.

Yeah that makes sense. You would think that someone would be accountable, to some degree. It's an accident I'm sure but still. Someone died.

What a tragic story - I didn't know this. I love Bruce Lee - a great actor indeed. What a horrible thing to happen

Yeah, not so good. I suppose the firearms guys are to blame. If you read the thing I cut and pasted that will make sense. Tragic accident that could have been avoided.

Yes, I read it - didn't know about it until then

Flying flying bird

Nice choice. I think I prefer the raven, but both of them use tools and are really bright...

Yeah I'd probably prefer the raven as well. Mainly because I see them more and actually recognize them. I don't know if I could actually point out a crow in a line up. Unless they are the only other black bird 🤔

Ravens are a bit larger and have a slightly different voice. But the decider for me was Edgar Allen Poe "quoth the Raven Nevermore". He didn't quoth the crow (and it's darn near Halloween so Poe is trending :))

Yeah. My mind goes there as well when I think of Ravens.

Ha, they reckon that Crows are the most intelligent of the bird species and they are masters of flying in very strong winds.
But if I want to be a crow, I will ask the crows to change their menu.

I snapped a crow this morning eating this.
081.jpg

Haha yeah. Any scavenger is going to have a pretty bad menu selection

Yep, definitely not a healthy menu methinks.

You probably know that a group of crows is a "murder." In a neighbouring city to mine, they were trying to decide whether to kill some of the crow population because they had determined that there were "too many." This was not an initiative I supported, but I couldn't help the pun, "Wow. They are actually planning a murder of crows."

It would be fun to be any bird, I think, just for the flying.

You know, now that I think about it, I want to change my answer to Pterodactyl although I still do love the idea of being a cat.

I'm not a fan of killing a bunch of wild birds or animals but the pun does make it humorous lol

No doubt, the leader of the charity pack. I would be an African Baboon.
Baboon 2..jpg

Two of my ten wives searching for food for the children.
Baboon 3.jpg

I don't take kindly to anyone that messes with our babies.
Baboon teeth..jpg

Enough said methinks!

It seems like being a babboon is better for the top male. Unlike other primates? Lol.

Yep a male baboon it is to be. Other primates also have leaders.

Lol...Oh yeah, I reckon this would be a good choice. I actually heard today that they're getting a little out of control from people having fed them which changed their hunting/food gathering habits?

That last picture Zac...You're saying...Hurry up and moon hive!

Sorry Chief, been out to do some work.
People should never feed apes and even Marian that feeds anything and most everything don't feed them. The baboons get aggresive when they are spoiled and they will attact if they don't get food.

Yep. We can do so much more for the people if Hive moons, maybe it's just a matter of time.

Yeah, I heard that. The same happened on Fraser Island here, with the dingoes. They started attacking people.

Now I have "the dingos ate my baby" running through my head. Lol.

Yeah, that's an enduring phrase I guess but wedontfeed them babies...They eat enough tourists so they don't get hungry. Americans mainly.

Lol. They would probably happily eat unwary Canadians also, I imagine.

Much as I like the idea of being waited on hand and foot, I'm pretty sure I'd never ever be able to live with a dozen females. I have a really hard time with one at a time...

Hahaha, look at it this way Sir Tom.
1 for cooking with two helpers. 1 for laundry and 1 for ironing. 1 for cleaning with one helper.
3 for gathering food = 10. All for free.
That should keep any man happy methinks.

But what happens if you piss a few of at once? Oh, man. I hate to even think about that...

Methinks not!!

Sorry I didn't mean to offend. In fact I never offend and as an apology I will delete the reply.

I wasn't offended - just stating my opinion - 😀

Thank you and I respect your opinion 🙂

This one is dangerous, the front tooth are long 🙈

That's why they are dangerous.

I rofled at "2 of my 10 wives" hahaha, enough said!

Hahaha, we belong to the same club.

I'm going to be very very naughty here (hey, aliens are on the table, right?) and say, hentai alien tentacle monster. I will refrain from dropping any memes of it at this point. But I always thought those things were kinda hot. And I'm not even into pron. Someone from Hive (@clayboyn) just showed it to me one time as a joke (or was it?), and I was a little embarrassed by how much I liked it. Kinda how I was also a little embarrassed by how much I loved this ASMR pickle eating video a few years ago -- also introduced to me by someone from Hive (@carrieallen), and also oddly right about the same time I discovered my fondness for alien tentacles.

HEY, DON'T JUDGE OK!!!

You can eat all that?
You will grow Chubby 🥰

Alien tentacles does sound a little bit of pronsy, but I don't really know about pron so who am I to judge :P

Jokes aside, this was a rollercoaster of a comment, made me chuckle.

It is pronsy. Hence - no meme. And I meant to say HENTAI tentacle monster. Not "hanta" LOL. But...we'll see. @galenkp asked for one so...I told him to google it. LOL

I assumed you meant HENTAI and were trying to disguise it as something else in case normies were reading hahaha

Haha. Yeah....I totally meant to say Hanta. The whole time....

All those hanta TENtacles. So satisfying. Aaaaaahhhh.

Ok, I really want to comment Bout tentacle monsters but...Pickle eating sounds video. Umm, ok that's nee to me! I didn't know it was a thing. I don't mind me some pickles but yeah, that video...I guess it demonstrates that humans are weird creative, if nothing else.

There's no shame in tenacle-fondness or pickle-eating sounds enjoyment. No judgement on it at all.

So, hanta alien tentacle monster, I'd be keen to see an image, a meme perhaps. Feel free to indulge me if you will.

Um...meant to say Hentai tentacle monster. Not Hanta. It was late and I was tired. Sorry. LOL. So...just go google it. It's a weird side of @littlescribe. And I'm not INTO it. It just struck me as #supererotic for some reason. Not sure why. I'm ordinarily rather vanilla.

As for the ASMR, I don't generally like to sit and watch people eat pickles. I simply happen to be one of the 20% of the human race who respond viscerally and have a dopamine release to certain sounds and visual stimulus. And no, it's not sexual. Just relaxing. Just so we're clear.

Although....

My soul craves to be a falcon. To fly wherever and whenever I want to without the requirement for a vaccine passport nor to go through quarantine.

It would be so cool to be able to fly!

Falcon's are amazing

Oh damn, that hits close to home, I actually stopped traveling when they began with their stupid measures, and I don't plan to get a passport or to do their quarantine any time soon.

Stay healthy wherever you are! Hopefully, all of us will get through this challenging time soon. Take care!

 3 years ago (edited)

Ah ok cool. Is it just about flying or is there another reasin for the Falcon?

Falcon is categorized as one of the ten migratory birds with the best endurance. Stamina is an important consideration for long-term travel.😄

I like your thinking...Would you travel to anywhere in particular or just travel in general?

Travel in general.

Coming late to this meeting I had to read the whole talk. I understand that most people want the animal in them to be a cat or dog. Naturally, considering communal living. Many have even borrowed the image of their favorite animal, I wonder if they have their approval for this?

I, with my poor English, may have misunderstood the subject. I understood it to refer to the animal(s) in us, which perhaps influences our behavior and not what animal we would like to be. I saw that @dswigle feels like a lioness and not that she wants to be a lioness. I think she understood just like me (or me like her).

I think the truest way to find out what animal lives in us (and I don't mean parasites), is to know the opinion of others, to know what those who know us associate us with. And since no one mentioned the wolf...
They call me the lone wolf. Because I like solitude, I like when I work on something to do everything alone, without help from others. Because I like a full moon on a clear winter night when the stones crack from the cold.

Bringing out the wolf in yourself isn't a bad thing at all and it's not a misunderstanding of the topic...You have the right to be as creative as you like.

I watched a documentary on wolves only about a week ag and they are fascinating creatures...Quite intelligent also...A great spirit animal indeed.

Thank you! Yes, wolves are fascinating creatures, as you rightly say. It's the animal that the dog comes from, isn't it? The lone wolf is peculiar and I don't know how much of it exists in reality or only in literature, because wolves are pack animals that live in groups and always have a leader.
The wolf is a special animal in Romanian history. The ancestors of the Romanians were called Dacians in ancient times. The Dacian flag was a kind of dragon with the head of a wolf and the tail of a snake. It is depicted like this on Trajan's Column in Rome. Trajan is the Roman emperor who defeated Dacia and the column in Rome was built in honor of this victory. The Dacians considered themselves wolves. Now in the forests of Romania, there are more wolves than in all forests of the European Union.

I have to agree with you, Dan! @bluemoon You are definitely a lone wolf, but, yes, you also like living in a pack.

Good choice, I think. Good day from here! :))

Thanks, I'm glad you approve of the wolf in me.

It made perfect sense when you brought it up. I am definitely not a wolf. :)

I know, lioness!

I've heard of Dacians, through references in some of the historical things I've read but in truth I don't know much about them other than living close to the Carpathian Mountains and that they used to call themselves wolves. Very cool indeed. Now I have to do some research to scratch that itch to know more. 😀

The Dacians were barbarians, barbarians who owned a lot of gold. In the Carpathian Mountains, there were many gold mines. That's why they were attacked and occupied by the Roman Empire. They built a bridge across the Danube to reach Dacia.

This is really hilarious, common am I just gonna picture myself as a dirty pig in a swamp? that's not going to happen and since that snake decided to be sneaky in Eden as the story said it made me have some bad feelings about it.
Nobody keeps a wild animal as pet or imagine themselves been like it.

But these two got my attention, I might want to be a gentle dove and leave a peaceful life away and alone or just be a lion no one dare comes around.

That way I can have my own terrorist and nothing to be afraid of.
But a lion takes blood and I can't stand the sight of blood.

So let's celebrate my dove self, a symbol of love and peace and sort of the gods messaged 😂

images (40).jpeg

source

I think a little dove is a better choice than a muddy pig so I'm glad you leaned that way. You can fly, make dove noises as you go and bring happiness to those around you with your beauty. It's a good choice and if I had three wishes I'd use one to turn you into a dove...I'd not even ask first so...I hope you're ready! 😆

Hi, I am an animal lol. All humans are animals. Some humans like animal in nature, while some behave like humans hiding our animals nature by behaving calm and having compassion.

giant-tortoises-3315158_640.jpg

If I should be animal an, I would love to be a tortoise. I have always had great admiration for this animal. They live long life (from 100 years up), they think before acting and always patient in things, always having fine sense of humor, few things is enough for them (food, water and a burrow). Here's a picture of tortoise I would love to be lol.

Ah yes, a wise choice. They have such a laid back life, never rushing around anywhere and simply doing things in their own time. Sounds pretty nice to me!

I wonder though, should this come to pass you'll need a name so I'm going to ask what your tortoise name would be?

Haha, I think the name would be Cruise.

Cruise the tortoise huh? Seems fiting.

Yes, Cruise like zero worries and living a cool life among other animals. Which makes me smart, studying other animals by acting calm. The wise tortoise lol

I am a Pisces according to my horoscope sign, and my numerous inner contradictions always prevent me from being a normal "normal" person.
Therefore, as the animal closest to me, I would name a flying fish.
It's a real natural phenomenon - fish that see themselves as birds and sing "I believe I can fly")

2.jpg

In fact, the flying fish is hovering rather than flying. It has no wings, and it doesn't flap them like birds do. By jumping out of the water and spreading their rigid fins, the fish fixes them in one position. This allows them to float in the air, taking advantage of favorable wind direction and rising air currents from the water, on average, from 50 meters to several hundred meters above the water surface.

This ability was given to these fish by nature, most likely to save them from predators chasing them in the water, but I think the flying fish also use their ability just to fly a little bit and enjoy their opportunity to feel free and different from others))..

Posted via proofofbrain.io

I've seen flying fish on the TV but actually didn't know they cold go up to about 50 metres! That's pretty cool indeed and sort of gives them the best of two worlds, under the sea and in the air! Seems like a good choice to me! Of course, you'd want to be one of those flying fish that knew not to bite down on the fisherman's hook I suppose...That could be problematic if you did!

Thanks for joining in but before I go...What would be your flying fish name and why?

You have very intriguing questions)...
My name would be Jonathan Livingston Fish)...because I would be trying to fly differently too))

Posted via proofofbrain.io

Haha, great answer indeed! Clever.

Really, do we have flying fish?
This is cool

Maybe a dragon? I could fly, spit fire. Some dragons also have mountains of gold so that would allow me to get more hive...All in all not a bad life.😜

Great one! Who wouldn't want to be a dragon? Live under a mountain sleeping on a massive pile of gold, silver and gems? Breathing fire? Come on man, it'd be awesome!

Back again😁
I saw many people opting for cats and that's understandable because kitties are cute and everyone loves them.
I'd rather go for FOX
Yes! loud and clear. The world is cruel mostly like a wild forest and if you don't use your brain with the diplomatic skills and of course self-esteem (self-centeredness), your survival in this forest is next to impossible. Foxes are mean they are selfish. They know how to deal with the vultures and other such creatures around them. They have brain and they use it in a cunning way and I love it. I have related it to real life and it took me to the conclusion that the weak ones are left behind or are cruised by those stronger than them. By The Way Lions Are Lazy!

Foxes are very clever and know how to get by in life. I think it's a good choice although it would be good to be a fox somewhere other than Australia because here they are an introduced species and we shoot them on sight. I've never met one that could outrun a bullet, no matter how clever it was.

If you wanted to be a fox down here you'd have to have some sort of markings to indicate you were a good fox and not one that preys on little lambs.

I never knew that 😟

True story. I shoot them when I'm culling ferals and farmers shoot them on sight.

I'd be a good fox in Australia 😂 or a kangaroo perhaps

Lol...Be a koala, we all love koalas.

Koala bears are literally amazing 😁🤩

I have seen in the comments that many would like to be a cat. I like cats, but I wouldn't like to be one. Sometimes they are very indifferent. Although, being a tiger or a jaguar could be cool. But among mammals, I would choose to be a giraffe. I recently read that they are animals whose females form great bonds with their young. And I would love to observe the world from that height, hehe

But I would also love to be a swan they are so elegant. And I seem to like animals with long necks, lol

And if there is any animal that I wouldn't like to be, it would be the cockroach.

It seems you have something about long necks but that's ok as I think a long neck would come in quite handy indeed. One could look around corners, over fences and into second story windows. Useful indeed!

Giraffe's are quite an excellent creature although they are a bit awkward when trying to take a drink...Long legs and all...You ever seen it? Quite comical.

Oh, yes! I have seen them once, and it's really funny how they have to put their legs to drink water. They literally have to spread their legs to get water, lol.

I haven't thought about that, maybe I should need to reconsider my choice, hehe ;)

Lol, nah stick with it...Maybe just get a really long straw!

I WANT TO BE LIKE THE PELICAN BIRD.

Well, I don't know whether Pelican birds exist or not but base on the stories I have read about the Pelican bird, I will surely want to be like that animal.

What are the attributes of the Pelican bird that inspired me to desire such animal ?

1 The Pelican bird is a self sacrificing bird that feeds it's offspring with it's blood until it dies of.

The world we live in has been filled with selfishness and greed. Siblings fight each other because of material wealth. There is segregation in the world, LOVE is wanting. I believe that the self sacrificing life of the Pelican bird should motivate us towards living in peace with each other, ensuring to render help to those who need our help.

2 They hunt in packs and live in group.

There is unity in diversity but most times this is not the case. People who have made it to the top care little or less to those who are struggling.
There are many who have given in to suicide due to depression. These persons could have been saved if we live together like the Pelican birds.
There is no greater way to live than dragging people even when you are still struggling The world will be a better place if only we can come together and work for the good of each other.
I have been trying to imitate this attribute of the Pelican bird by sharing whatever useful information I have with others so that we can grow together. Thanks to @samest who has always shown this attribute of dragging people up with him in every movement he makes.

Pelican's re great birds...A but ungainly on the ground but when they fly are so graceful. It's an excellent choice indeed! Here's a pelican I snapped at the Adelaide zoo.

Wow. This is awesome. I have not really seen one in reality. Am now convinced that they are real !!!!

Pelicans are real, no doubt about it.

Weekend-engagement topic week 71: The animal in you

The animal in me is no other than a "RAT", yeah a rat. Rats are as smart as i am, they are one of the smartest animal in the world tho they can be so annoying, they eat what they arent expected to eat, they can atimes eats ones important credentials which are not meant to be joked with, ofcourse we all know, rats are ubiquitous they are found everywhere. They dont work but they eat daily and even healthier than most human beings depending on the individual.

Rats can detect when they wanna be hurt, they calculate we human steps, they time us and they kick off just to be safe, ofcourse we all know not every human loves rats especially people here in my country (NIGERIA) so they are always at alert for their safety because they arent loved here.

In a nutshell
Rats are as smart as i am, but not more of the way i am.

A rat isn't an animal a lot would select I think although you make some good points and I guess if one was a rat one would never be short of friends because there's a lot of rats in the world right? I think it's becoming quite popular for people to have rats as pets these days so I guess if you were a rat and managed to get the job of being someone's pet that's be a pretty sweet gig huh?

Definetely sir

Keep your credentials well, smile......
You are right bro, they can penetrate in eating someone credentials

Lol, exactly bro!

I can do both. I know you are a hammer shark my knuckleheaded friend. Why? No clue. Just know it. 🤣 I mean a hammer for head, seems pretty self-explanatory.

The question is pretty interesting. I'd love to be a dragon. Long lifespan. Fire-or-other-element-breathing. Unrivaled wisdom. And the need to hoard stuff. Which I already do since I hoard books. Besides, I could have a totally cool name.

About the kind of dragon. Well, I'd like to be like the western depiction. Lizard-like body with 4 limbs, a tail, wings, horns, fangs and the like.

 3 years ago (edited)

Yep, that's the second dragon for the topic...One more and we can have a squadron, fly in formation and pretty much be fucking awesome.

I'd like to be a dragon too actually, like, when I'm not a hammerhead shark and all. It would be cool. Although, now I think of it, a hammerhead dragon shark would also be cool! A hammerhead dragonark.

That's cool! It would be like 10 times better than doing Viking raids.

A hammerhead dragonark.

Ha, ha, ha. Nice twist with that. It would be an interesting thing. I think the game Hungry Dragon has something like that.

We could do hammerhead dragonark raids with our Viking allies. Now that's a raid!

Sounds like a lot of fun!

This reminds me of the HBO tv show Game of Thrones. The dragons are so cool yet no one wants them to be real because of their nature as portrayed in the movies. Good choice though😁

Ha, ha, ha. There's debate about why dragons exist in the lore of so many cultures throughout the world. Maybe there was something similar around. But in general they make some pretty interesting creatures.

Are we to write a post about it and post in this community or just reply in the comment below???

Have a read of the post, it's all in there.

@dandays Dog...

This one is way to easy. And it will not hurt his feelings at all. He loves dogs...

Lets just say that you are not the only dog in town G-Dog...

@dandays is an Ol' Dog with some new tricks. A big dog. Not one of those yappy ankle biters. And He fosters rescue dogs. Pretty cool old dog if you ask me.

Here is some hidden footage He did not know I have of him on his mountain bike.

Lol...@dandays-dog on his mountain bike...Then off.

Its when you don't flip over the handlebars you need new front brakes. I was just adjusting them.

Lol...Yeah of course, I should have known. Just taking a look and applying a few tweaks to maximise performance.

I must confess, it was a reenactment.

But it is a...

True Story

Here is his ex-ray...

🤣

You fucken crack me up dude.

I mean it's ok I guess, would've been cooler without training wheels but whatever. I have more questions about the second one than I care to admit.

How else am I supposed to test my front brakes?

IKR

That Photoshop or is there a breed that looks wolfish that is that big..?

Well for The Love of G O D Dog!! Christ Sakes Man, Would You just look at this vvv shizz.!!

Big Fuckin Dogs

And not this kind either...

untitled.gif

Oh my God dude! Humans need to chill out a lot of the time. That's a ridiculously sized dog.

#WE just returned a bloodhound yesterday. His name was Tate, Pura has a photo of him in her phone but she's not awake yet and I like all my extremities so I won't get the photo.

They called us and this dude needed a foster home for three days, "sure!" We said. Dang.. what a handful. Pure bloodhound they said. 12 weeks he was already 45 pounds and barked at everything! Dude even barks when he snores.

LoL...

So do I...

Bark when I snore...

And kick, and cuss, and scratch my balls... I know I shoulda quit at cuss right..?

untitled.gif

No denying they've done that before.

Ratel - or honey badger if you prefer, fierce, thick skinned, tough, sweetest thing about them is they eat honey, did I mention fierce❗️

Need one in my garden please....

Lots of bees, sorry no honey combs for nibbling on, I also miss that treat!

Do you want to be all of them, I do not think you can survive this?
If you continue in becoming hybrid to all those animals, well what can I say?
Is a matter of choice, but I pity for you oooo smile.....

Wow! You are more than I thought, how does it feels, to be many hybrid at a time.
Can you please enlighten me?

Hmm, that's a lot of animals you'd like to be, although I like the idea of a hybrid of the first four to be honest. I'm not sure what that animal would be called though, maybe you could come up with a name, for sake of convenience? 😆

Maybe you could just rotate between all six of these animals? You know, One sixth of your time as each on a rotational basis; that way you cover all bases.

Lol...A perfect name indeed! I never doubted that you'd have a cool name!

That hybrid would be fierce to say the least

That would make for an interesting chimera indeed. Where would you live? What aspects of these different animals appeal to you? Well, the sloth seems obvious, to me at least, but maybe that's just a projection of my own slothful nature. lol.

(Trivia: Did you know that sloths have moths in their fur? The baby sloths get the moths from the Momma sloth. The moths live symbiotically with the sloths, eating the algae that grows on the fur or something like that.)

Haha I love all the colors you are going for!

Haha true only for the truly confident ones!

There's a lot of myth and legend surrounding the Raven I guess, across various cultures too. A legit bird to have as ones bird.

I had the dodo bird as my spirit-bird but that fucking then went extinct and now I'm on the look out for another option. I thought about the buzzard but nah, considered the galah but nope...Still looking.

I was joking with the dodo although I've acted like a dodo bird on occasions. That is to say, like an idiot. We all do it, or have done or will do so. 😊

I haven't actually announced my animal of choice for the #weekend-engagement yet. I'll do a post I guess.
