Our newest family member - Nyx

in Hive Pets3 years ago

Hello fellow pet lovers! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, but I was separated from my dogs for quite awhile. Now that I’m back in Thailand there is someone new we are expecting to join our family.

Our new doberman - Nyx

Since Cherry (our old doberman) passed away, the yard has been quite empty and sad. We wanted to wait for a bit before we get yet another dog (having 5 already is a lot), but Nat’s dad has been looking after dobermans and breeding them for years. Lately he just looks after 2 dobers. Nat decided she wanted to try and breed in the future (In a controlled and natural way) and since her dad has an amazing male, she wanted to get a female doberman we can look after. Sharing the idea with her dad lead to ordering a dog from the next litter of these two beautiful beasts.

And this is her momma

All the dobermans Nat had before were from Russia and this one is no exception. They have some of the healthiest and most beautiful bloodlines of European dobermans. There aren’t many good breeders in Thailand and dobermans are rare and expensive. Getting a dog from this particular breeder in Russia isn’t an easy deed either and it takes a while since you often have to pay for a puppy that isn’t even born yet.

This is Nyx at about a month old. Her paws look massive already.

Her official name on the pedigree is Mercedes. We have decided long before, that we’ll name her Nyx though. I think it has a nice ring to it and the name of the Goddess of the night is fitting for a strong black female dog.

It’s been a few months and our Nyx is in good health and waiting for her last vaccine before she gets sent to us. We had a few photos of her every few weeks and she’s grown so much.

She was quite big as a puppy, seems she’ll grow quite a lot. She's about 2 and a half months old here.

We’ve bought so many toys and accessories for her while waiting. Stormi is crazy about toys and thought all of these toys were for her. It was quite funny how she looked at them when we were unpacking them. She even managed to steal one somehow and carried it around the house proudly, even though the toy itself was as big as her. 😄

The last photos we had of Nyx are from a few days ago. She’s grown so much and should be with us by the end of the month. Quite excited about it and at the same time not looking forward to all the troubles a 3 months old pup can cause. Especially when you have 5 other bandits running around the house. I hope the other dogs accept her and that Stormi isn’t too jealous of the extra attention we’ll have to give to the new puppy.

I’m always amazed at how gigantic her paws are. At 2 and a half months old, she has a paw bigger than all of Stormi’s paws together. I don’t think the other dogs will be able to bully Nyx when she arrives since she’ll be bigger than all of them already. 😃

Think now with how bad covid and traveling around is, it’s as good of a time as ever to get this puppy. We’ll definitely have more time for her that way and wouldn’t have to leave her home if we go somewhere. I’ll be sure to share the interesting moments we have.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again in the next post when she'll be with us already! :)

Aww, such a cutie :) Finally some "real" big dog will join your famous canine gang :D :)

Haha, yeah this one will be so much bigger than the rest.. Our smaller ones are 2.5kg. 😀 Nyx should be around 7-8 when she arrivves.

Sure is a Beautiful dog.

Thank you! :)
