Nail time (step by step edition)

in Hive Nails4 years ago

Every Thursday i will post the "nail time (step by step)" series, by showing you the steps of the nail design that i did on the weekly nails.

It's a lot easier for me because i can show you the "before and after", and making an another post about that nail design that i did. And in that way i am practicing more on the design and i can take more photos because i have the time to do it.

Products that i used:

  • 3 tips
  • base/matte + non wipe top coats
  • black gel polish
  • white gel polish
  • silver flash gel polish
  • white paste
  • black paste
  • a thin layer brush for the design

The black gel polish is ready with 2 coats, but the silver and the white gel polishes a 3rd layer is required for this design because the design won't cover the background.

Then i applied a thin layer of the matte top coat. The pastes work only on matte top coat and they don't need top coat above them.

I used only one liner brush because for the designs that i chose to do i needed a specific one. That's why i did the designs colour by colour.

First i used the white paste and i draw the lines and i cured them in the lamp. In case you're wondering i didn't use white paste on white gel polish, or black paste on black gel polish and the same for the silver flash gel polish. I wanted to make a contrast with the background.

Then i draw the black lines with the black paste.

And for the end i draw the silver lines.

That's how the result was with the matte top coat.

That's how reflects the silver flash gel polish with the matte top coat and i didn't like it.

But i wanted to make them shine so i applied a non wipe top coat. Also i had to apply top coat on the black and white tips, because i used gel polish on them for the design.

After the non wipe top coat the silver flash gel polish is much better.

This is the brush that i used. I had to clean it everytime when i switched colour, because i wanted to have a clear line every time and not a mix of colours.
