Here's my entry for BeerSaturday 463 hosted by @detlev with a beer perfect for the beautiful days ahead in Montreal: Pépite, a golden lager brewed by Herman, a microbrewery in Quebec. With the rising temperatures, I prefer lighter, cooler beers. Let's see if this lager heralds a beautiful summer 😀.
Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 463 avec une bière parfaite pour les belles journées qui s'annoncent sur Montréal, il s'agit de Pépite, une golden lager brassée par Herman, une microbrasserie du Québec. Avec les températures qui augmentent, je préfère des bières plus légères et fraiches. On va voir si cette lager annonce un bel été 😀.
Here is a map of Quebec where I can show you the exact location of the brewery. Herman is located in Prévost on the edge of the Petit Train du Nord, a 234 km long cycling path in the Laurentians.

This isn't the first time I've featured a beer from Herman. I think this is the eleventh beer from this brewery to participate in #BeerSaturday. As a reminder, Herman is a craft brewery launched in 2022 in the Laurentians by four friends, Frédéric Pelletier, John Marcel Tremblay, Louis Morin, and Louis-Philippe Beaudoin Morin, focusing on thirst-quenching, light, and approachable beers. Exactly what I've been craving for the past few days.
Ce n'est pas la première fois que je présente une bière de Herman. Je pense que c'est la onzième bière de cette brasserie qui participe au #BeerSaturday. Mais pour rappel, Herman est une brasserie artisanale lancée en 2022 dans les Laurentides par quatre amis Frédéric Pelletier, John Marcel Tremblay, Louis Morin et Louis-Philippe Beaudoin Morin en se concentrant sur les bières de soif, légères et accessibles. Exactement ce que j'ai envie depuis quelques jours.
🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
Pépite (Nugget) is a Golden Lager with 5% alcohol and hopped with fuggle, a classic English hop variety, though less commonly used in Quebec beers. In the glass, it displays a beautiful golden color characteristic of this style of beer, topped with a rich white head. On the palate, it's quite light with a floral note. The bitterness is gentle, with a dry and refreshing finish. Perfect for enjoying the beautiful spring days ahead.
Pépite est une Golden Lager appelée avec 5% d'alcool et houblonnée au fuggle, houblon anglais classique mais un peu moins utilisé pour des bières québécoises. Dans le verre, on retrouve une belle robe dorée caractéristique de ce type de bière surmontée d'un riche col blanc. En bouche, c'est assez léger avec un note florale. L'amertume est douce avec une finale sèche et rafraîchissante. Parfait pour bien accompagner les belles journées de printemps qui s'annoncent.
Design
Herman's design is always elegant, and this one is no exception with its black can and gold lettering that echoes the beer's name. I like the stack of gold bars at the bottom, a nice touch with the gold theme.
Le design de Herman est toujours élégant, celui-ci ne fait pas exception avec cette cannette noire et ses lettres dorées qui font écho au nom de la bière. J'aime bien la pile de lingots au bas, joli rappel sur le thème de l'or.
