I curious about it.

Hello, friends, and greetings to the community! This is my small contribution to the community created by @jaki01. I've been dealing with internet issues, along with computer problems, and rising summer temperatures. Because of this, I've stopped making long posts for a while, as uploading photos has become quite challenging.

Today, while washing the dishes, I noticed some unusual activity on our kitchen window. Small black bees were on the window frame, producing a kind of brown-black sap or oil. I don't want to use spray to kill them unless they become a nuisance. I’ve checked various sources, and some suggest they are small black bees.

Are they indeed black bees? And why are they on the window instead of forming a colony on one of the many plants or trees around our house?
They are very tiny, around 0.5cm, look like flies, but when they are flying, they look like honey bees.

These are a variety of stingless bees. There's a very similar (or perhaps identical) species on my property. They're gentle and can't sting; the only thing they do when they feel threatened is get tangled in your hair. Their honey isn't edible because they can use the remains of large animal droppings to build their hives.

This species loves pomegranate flowers. It's amazing to watch them sip nectar, and sometimes they even fall asleep inside the blossoms.

Thank you, dear friend, @sirenahippie, for a very informative post about these bees. One year, they made a hive inside a ventilator fan in our kitchen. When we came to India, we found it and cleaned that a few drops had dripped inside the kitchen. I just tasted it, and it had a very good taste. I am enjoying their actions each day during dishwashing. Was very funny and nice.
Here in India very warm. And this weather, the insects are more active now. Likewise, these bees. Have a nice Sunday. Take care.

My guess: It's Tetragonula iridipennis, a stingless bee species.

Thank you very much! Just read about it after your comment. Have a nice weekend :)

You are welcome! :)
