The Pleiades in the list of the most popular constellations of the starry sky, visible from the earth, take the second place after - Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Myths and legends about the Pleiades are in the myths, legends, fairy tales and legends of many peoples. They were revered as demigods, many powerful peoples considered them their ancestors.
Consider the Pleiades through the ancient Greek heritage. The Greek word Pleiades came from the word "doves", or "swim", they were the daughters of the Atlantean Atlas and Pleione. According to the Pleiades in other Greece, the navigation season was determined. Therefore, one of the decodings of the name Pleiades comes from the word "sail".
