We all have our fantasies, of various kinds, it is part of the nature of the human being to project their emotions, their desires, their unmet needs, their future and also their past.
Some think that dreaming and fantasizing are quite similar activities of the mind, I believe that there is an essential difference, sometimes we dream of real things that have happened to us at some point in life, it is a memory. Of course we also dream of unreal things and sometimes so crazy that we don't even make sense of them. There are some people who profit from it: to make sense of people's unreal dreams, to try to discover traumas and diseases of the mind.
On the other hand, fantasizing is something more conscious, it is projecting and projecting ourselves on real situations in which we would like to be or in which we have already been and would like to be again.
Well, here I am short with this spiel because I do not want to be so serious, I only used these reflections to talk about a wonderful place where I always fantasize about returning and about which I have serious doubts about whether I can do it. Do you wonder why? Keep reading and I'll tell you.
The place is called Nant & Fall and they are words of Welsh origin that in Spanish mean Arroyo de las Cascadas or jumps.
It is indeed a watercourse whose route is about 15 kilometers, it is born in the Rosario lake and it converges with the Corintos River. In its journey it has seven waterfalls, I know the first one that is quite close to the route that connects Trevelin with Corcovado and then the last three that are also the largest and are located within a protected area where they built a viewpoint to observe them.
The sector best known to me is precisely from the birth and until that first waterfall, I have visited it on several occasions because it is also a good fishing destination.
A little after walking from that route and towards its sources, the river changes from being a typical mountain course where pools and slides with a stone bottom predominate to a course full of meanders with a silt bottom and flooded shores of mallín where you have to have been careful when walking at the risk of sinking into a natural well or created by an animal.
You can walk for several kilometers and not see anyone, nature and the forest are presented in all their splendor and it is difficult to reach the lake, almost impossible. You can only see the springs arriving in a boat from the lake itself.
Small wild animals are found in all its extension and the huillines or river wolves surprise us in every corner, also birds of all kinds, sizes and colors abound and dominate the place, taking advantage of the few human beings that walk there. The Martín Pescadors, the bandurrias and the cauquenes are the most seen.
Underwater and to the delight of fishermen, brown trout, rainbow trout and the native perch are found throughout its extension, although the largest is always near the lake.
At the beginning I said that it is a beautiful place, I was lucky enough to visit it in countless opportunities but the land near the route has been subdivided and subdivided to develop a development of farms and weekend houses, in the best style of the closed neighborhoods as well. that from now on it will be impossible to access there. Maybe I can still enjoy the springs in the Rosario Lake but for this you have to have a good boat and the weather should accompany, two things not always within my reach.
But fantasizing about going back or at least remembering what the place is like may reach me. I have many photographs, some of which I am sharing here with you.
Todos tenemos nuestras fantasías, de varios tipos, es parte de la naturaleza del ser humano proyectar sus emociones, sus anhelos, sus necesidades insatisfechas, su futuro y también su pasado.
Algunos opinan que soñar y fantasear son actividades de la mente bastante similares, yo creo que hay una diferencia esencial, a veces soñamos con cosas reales, que nos han pasado en algún momento de la vida, es un recuerdo. Por supuesto que también soñamos con cosas irreales y en ocasiones tan locas que ni siquiera le encontramos sentido. Hay algunas personas que lucran con eso: encontrarle sentido a los sueños irreales de la gente, para tratar de descubrir traumas y enfermedades de la mente.
En cambio fantasear es algo más consciente, es proyectar y proyectarse sobre situaciones reales en las que quisiéramos estar o en las que ya hemos estado y nos gustaría volver a estar.
Bien, aquí corto con esta perorata porque no deseo ser tan serio, solo utilicé estas reflexiones para hablar de un lugar maravilloso donde siempre fantaseo con volver y sobre el que tengo serias dudas sobre si podré hacerlo. ¿Se preguntarán por qué? Sigan leyendo y se los cuento.
El lugar se llama Nant & Fall y son palabras de origen galés que en español significan Arroyo de las Cascadas o de los saltos.
Efectivamente es un curso de agua cuyo recorrido tiene unos 15 kilómetros, nace en el lago Rosario y confluye con el Río Corintos. En su recorrido posee siete cascadas, conozco la primera que está bastante cerca de la ruta que une Trevelin con Corcovado y luego las últimas tres que además son las más grandes y se encuentran dentro de un área protegida donde construyeron un mirador para observarlas.
El sector más conocido por mí es justamente desde el nacimiento y hasta esa primera cascada, lo he visitado en varias oportunidades porque además es un buen destino de pesca.
A poco de andarlo desde esa ruta y hacia sus nacientes el río cambia de ser un típico curso de montaña donde predominan los pozones y correderas con fondo de piedras a un curso lleno de meandros con fondo de limo y costas inundables de mallín donde hay que tener cuidado al caminarlo a riesgo de hundirse en algún pozo natural o creado por algún animal.
Se puede caminar por varios kilómetros y no ver a nadie, la naturaleza y el bosque se presentan en todo su esplendor y es difícil llegar al lago, casi imposible. Solo se pueden conocer las nacientes llegando en una embarcación desde el propio lago.
Pequeños animales salvajes se encuentran en toda su extensión y los huillines o lobitos de río nos sorprenden en cada rincón, también aves de todo tipo tamaño y color abundan y dominan el lugar, aprovechando los pocos seres humanos que por allí caminan. Los Martín Pescador, las bandurrias y los cauquenes son los más vistos.
Bajo el agua y para delicia de los pescadores truchas marrones, arco iris y las autóctonas percas se encuentran en toda su extensión aunque las más grandes siempre cerca del lago.
Al principio dije que es un lugar hermoso, tuve la suerte de visitarlo en innumerables oportunidades pero los terrenos cercanos a la ruta se han subdivido y loteado para desarrollar un emprendimiento de chacras y casas de fin de semana, al mejor estilo de los barrios cerrados así que desde ahora será imposible acceder por allí. Quizás todavía pueda disfrutar de las nacientes en el Lago Rosario pero para ello hay que contar con una buena embarcación y el clima debe acompañar, dos cosas no siempre a mi alcance.
Pero fantasear con volver o al menos con recordar como es el lugar quizás me alcance. Tengo muchas fotografías, algunas de las cuales estoy compartiendo aquí con Uds.
