Try to remember what you did when looking for ideas. Do you pay attention around, hoping to get inspiration from objects and events around you?

Many people unwittingly pay attention to the surrounding objects when looking for ideas to solve their problems, hoping that they will get inspiration to solve the problem.

How about you? Do you often do the same thing too? Try to remember what you did when looking for ideas. Do you pay attention around, hoping to get inspiration from objects and events around you?

If so, then it's exactly what you do. One of the ways we can find ideas, find a way out of the problem of paying attention to what is around us. But, the way is not that simple. There are special ways to pay attention to objects around to generate ideas.

Two types of vision of the human eye

Vision of the human eye is divided into two, namely peripheral vision (peripheral vision) and central vision (central vision). Both have different functions. Peripheral vision serves to see things that are beyond our focus / attention. In contrast, central vision serves to see objects that are in our focus / attention.

Imagine that picture as reality in front of you. When you see a violet flower, when your eyes focus on the flower, we can still see things around it, right? Well, the part of the eye that sees the flower is central vision. Meanwhile, peripheral vision is the part of the eye that sees objects around the flower.

When you see the flower, you deliberately focus your eyes on the flower. And, therefore, you can see it clearly. You know that the object in front of you is a violet flower. Instead, other objects around you can only be seen vaguely. You cannot know for sure what objects are.

Why so? Because, you accidentally pay attention to these objects. It's just that the objects are still within sight of your eyes.

Eye design like that allows humans to sort objects / information in accordance with their goals from information that is not in line with their goals so that they can focus on those goals and put aside other things. Objects / information in accordance with the goal captured by the central vision to then enter the brain and processed by the conscious mind. Meanwhile, objects / information that are incompatible with goals are captured by peripheral vision to then enter the brain without being processed by the conscious mind.

For example, you are reading a book. Now, when you arrive at the word you read, your central vision focuses on the word and overrides other words. Instead, peripheral vision captures words that you are not reading.

Imagine the design of our eyes is not like that, imagine our eyes do not have peripheral vision, imagine our eyes only have central vision, so we cannot filter important information from the unimportant. All information is captured and processed by our conscious mind at the same time. Of course, that makes us confused.

For example, at the same time, your eyes (central vision) capture all the writing in your book. Can you understand the meaning of the writing? No, no?

Then, what is the relationship of the explanation above by finding ideas, by finding a way out of the problem?
