FreeRead Week 11/10/2019- Author Reading - A OneLoveDTube & Freewrite House Project
Let me take you back to the time when we discovered a hidden wonder within the stone walls of Intramuros.
Intramuros can be referred to as the Walled City. It was the seat of the Spanish government during colonial times in the country. Today, a number of historical landmarks can be found there.
When my daughter was still in college, her campus was found within Intramuros. Once, my niece and I accompanied her to her enrollment. We finished up quite early, so we decided to walk around the vicinity. I'm glad that we also took a few photos along the way, as I'm happily sharing them with you right now.
We started our trek from the Baluarte de San Gabriel, which was just right across from her campus. After around a block or so, we came upon the Puerta del Parian or Asean Garden. This was the hidden wonder that we discovered. We didn't even know that such a place existed in the area. What a lovely garden perfect for strolling and photo taking! Some folks pass by here everyday, as it is also a shortcut to take them to where they would be riding the public transport.
If you are a history buff, Intramuros would be a good place to visit in Manila. It is also near Binondo, the world's oldest chinatown. I hope you enjoyed today's adventure.
