When I first heard these 80s-inspired songs, it never occurred to me that they were created with AI music tools, until my interest was piqued and checked who performed them. I initially thought they were movie soundtracks as the music video backdrops were clips from films. Anyways, they are nicely crafted, so I'm sharing some of them today for the TTT initiative by Ablaze.
But before that, let me quote the description (intro) from the Retrosync Channel on how they create the music:
Yes, we use advanced AI music tools to generate the foundation of our tracks, but every song goes through an intensive creative process. Lyrics are written with deep emotional themes, melodies are refined, vocals are directed for soul-stirring performances, and production is fine-tuned for a professional, cinematic finish. Think of AI as a paintbrush, but the artistry, storytelling, and quality control are fully human-driven.
And now, the first tune that got my ears hooked on listening more:
Fading Highway Dreams (Johnny Be Good)
This song features emotive vocals, paired with a melancholic tempo, evoking feelings of longing, yearning, and nostalgia. Add the thematic backdrop of the video, consisting of footage from the classic 1980 movie, that matched the driving rhythm of the synthwave music. This is something I could listen to while doing something or nothing at all.
The second tune is a pop ballad with a highly romantic vibe.
Between the Fields and the Stars
This is another relaxing piece of music. I love the vocals (accordingly by Emma Ryan), the steady beat, tempo, and the instrumentation. The music video (clips from the film Summer Catch) complements the song.
And the third tune chosen from all those we enjoyed today:
Say Anything
A romantic piece with simple melodies, paired with footage of the 1989 movie of the same title (Say Anything), and the symbolic, emotional lyrics that invokes that high-school romance nostalgia.
The footage edits of these three and others on the Retrosync Channel are quite amazing, perfectly timed too, emphasizing the lyrics that correspond to the scenes.

Wow! Fantastic tunes!
While I can see the challenges with AI, I too can see the potential benefits. Our bunch of friends have begun dabbling in ai music generators and creating songs for each other. It has been so much fun and seeing people’s creative juices flow as they curate and prompt and create is a special thing.
I love how the youth of today can simply catch a classic tune they like, access the entire catalogue of their music, and dive right in to deeper discovery with few barriers. I am also liking how the barriers to music creation are falling and the inspiration one can get while creating.
I guess off topic of your songs but it makes me happy to hear you discovering and finding joy in this music too.
Yeah, ai can generate quite good music, it cuts off a lot of artists work I think, and it's hard to spot if it's ai or not
Ganda Ng songs sis especially the first one. Kahit ngayon KO pang narinig😁
