I took this picture inside the Del Amo Mall back in 2013. I've since moved away, and they've been remodeling it, so I don't know what the state is currently. This is near the Disney Store on the north end of the mall.
These planters were one of the last of these types of islands to exist, which was an artifact of the previous economy. Most malls are switching to open space to allow for those self-contained "cart stores" that sell sun glasses and phone cases.
