¡Saludos! Mi hijo llevaba días pidiendo que le comprara un camión azul de juguete, sin embargo, ahora no tengo dinero, por la cuarentena y la inflación de mi país cada día están más costosos los juguetes, por ello llegué a un acuerdo con mi hijo, le prometí que le haría una camioneta azul tejida que pudiera girar los neumáticos. Lo hice y aquí les comparto el proceso.
Regards! My son had been asking for days to buy him a blue toy truck, however, now I have no money, because of the quarantine and inflation in my country, toys are more expensive every day, so I reached an agreement with my son. I promised I would make him a woven blue pickup truck that could spin the tires. I did it and here I share the process.
Proceso / Process
Para tejer la camioneta utilicé diferentes materiales de los que me han sobrado en proyectos anteriores: estambre de color azul y negro, hilo para crochet de color blanco, negro y gris, pabilo amarillo y rojo. También utilicé alambre y palitos de chupeta.
Comencé tejiendo la carrocería con la técnica de dos agujas utilizando unas de 2 milímetros de diámetro, inicié tejiendo 10 puntos con estambre de descarte para luego tejer 8 vueltas con estambre azul para formar un rectángulo, posteriormente levante seis puntos del lado del rectángulo, tejí los diez puntos centrales y levante seis puntos de lado del rectángulo, con 22 puntos en la aguja tejí ocho vueltas.
Coloqué los primeros seis puntos los últimos seis puntos en dos agujas auxiliares, tejí los diez puntos centrales por 8 vueltas hasta formar un rectángulo. Tejí los primeros seis puntos que había dejado en la aguja auxiliar, levanté seis puntos del lado del rectángulo, tejí los diez puntos centrales, levante seis puntos del lado del rectángulo y tejí los seis puntos que había dejado en la aguja auxiliar. Con 34 puntos en la aguja tejí 10 vueltas. Con hilo gris tejí seis vueltas.
To weave the truck, I used different materials that I have left over in previous projects: blue and black yarn, white, black and gray crochet yarn, yellow and red wick. I also used wire and lollipop sticks.
I started knitting the bodywork with the two-needle technique using 2 millimeters in diameter, I started knitting 10 stitches with discard yarn and then knitting 8 rounds with blue yarn to form a rectangle, then I picked up six stitches from the side of the rectangle, I knitted the ten center stitches and pick up six stitches on the side of the rectangle, with 22 stitches on the needle I knit eight rounds.
I placed the first six stitches and the last six stitches on two auxiliary needles, I knitted the center ten stitches for 8 laps to form a rectangle. I knitted the first six stitches that I had left on the cable needle, picked up six stitches from the side of the rectangle, knitted the center ten stitches, picked up six stitches from the side of the rectangle and knitted the six stitches that I had left on the cable needle. With 34 stitches on the needle I worked 10 laps. With gray yarn I knitted six rows.
Con una tercera aguja retomé la primera hilera de puntos grises por el lado posterior de tejido, enfrente las dos agujas y tejí dos puntos juntos (uno de cada aguja) para formar el parachoques de la camioneta. Tejí los diez puntos centrales con estambre negro, tejiendo junto un punto de cada lado al finalizar cada vuelta. Al quedar solo diez puntos en la aguja tejí con estambre azul 16 hileras y cerré el tejido con estambre de descarte. Enfrente el inicio y el final de los puntos para hacer una costura invisible con estambre azul, una vez hecho eso extraje el estambre de descarte.
With a third needle I took up the first row of gray stitches on the back side of the knitting, facing the two needles and knitting two stitches together (one from each needle) to form the bumper of the truck. I knit the ten central stitches with black yarn, knitting together a stitch on each side at the end of each round. As there were only ten stitches left on the needle, I wove 16 rows of blue yarn and closed the fabric with discard yarn. Face the beginning and end of the stitches to make an invisible seam with blue yarn, once that is done I extracted the discard yarn.
Rellené la carrocería con fibra y cosí los costados. Con una aguja de crochet # 0 levante diez puntos para formar el cajón de la camioneta, tejí doce vueltas y otras cinco más para la puerta del cajón. Levante seis puntos con estambre azul de cada lado y tejí por doce vueltas, uní las parte con una hilera de puntos bajos con hilo gris, escondiendo por dentro un alambre para dar estructura.
I filled the body with fiber and sewed the sides. With a # 0 crochet needle, pick up ten stitches to form the truck drawer, I knit twelve laps and another five for the drawer door. Pick up six stitches with blue yarn on each side and knitted for twelve laps, I joined the parts with a row of single crochets with gray thread, hiding a wire inside to give structure.
Para tejer los cauchos utilicé aguja de crochet # 4 e hilo negro, tejí un anillo de ocho puntos y luego de continué de manera cilíndrica por veinte vueltas, rellené con fibra y cosí los puntos finales a los puntos iníciales para formar el caucho.
To knit the rubbers I used a # 4 crochet needle and black yarn, I knitted an eight stiches ring and then continued in a cylindrical way for twenty turns, filled with fiber and sewed the end points to the starting points to form the rubber.
Tejí los rines con crochet #4, comenzando con un círculo gris y luego cambiando a hilo negro, haciendo un borde y los radios con gris.
I knit the wheels with crochet # 4, starting with a gray circle and then changing to black yarn, making a rim and the spokes with gray.
Para unir las ruedas hice unos círculos grises, inserté el alambre en los círculos y luego en los palitos de chupeta, gire al alambre para asegurar que no se saliera, cosí los círculos grises a los cauchos, rellené con fibra el agujero y cosí los rines del otro lado de los cauchos, con una rectángulo tejido con hilo negro cosí las cauchos en la camioneta.
To join the wheels I made some gray circles, I inserted the wire in the circles and then in the lollipop sticks, twist the wire to ensure that it did not come out, I sewed the gray circles to the rubbers, I filled the hole with fiber and sewed the wheels on the other side of the tires, with a rectangle woven with black thread, I sewed the tires on the truck.
Los detalles de las ventanas y el parabrisas los tejí con hilo blanco, las luces con pabilo amarillo y rojo. Los ojos los bordé con hilo negro de coser.
The details of the windows and the windshield were woven with white thread, the lights with yellow and red wick. I embroidered the eyes with black sewing thread.
Resultado
Las ruedas de la camioneta pueden girar, no de manera perfecta pero si lo suficiente para que mi hijo se sienta satisfecho. Fue un amigurumi de apariencia simple pero que tomó un gran esfuerzo hacerlo. Cuando tenga dinero le compraré el juguete que quiere a mi hijo pero por ahora esta camioneta lo hace muy feliz.
The truck's wheels can roll, not perfectly, but enough to make my son feel satisfied. It was a simple looking amigurumi but it took a lot of effort to make. When I have money I will buy the toy that my son wants but for now this truck makes him very happy.

You have done a great job by making this absolutely gorgeous vehicle! I really want to make a truck as well but I am afraid that I will have to crochet the whole thing since I am not so good to knitting as I am to crochet :D
It is a good idea to do everything in crochet, I would have done everything in crochet, but the blue yarn that I had was little and I discovered that by knitting with two needles it was enough to make the bodywork lol
