I'm a carnivore!
My "normal" for breakfast right now is yogurt with a sprinkle of ceylon cinnamon and if there are blackberries or grapes in the frig, a few of those on top. I usually have a side of some sort of nuts, the kind of which rotates.
I was trying to remember if I ever had salad for breakfast. I can't remember a time, but I'm sure I can't remember every breakfast I ever had. I may have had some leftover taco salad a morning or two.... maybe.
I save my carnivoring for lunch and supper. 😄
Oh... and pass the butter please! I love that stuff. When I was growing up we used more margarine (yuck) but I didn't know better. My Dad loved butter because he was raised with it, but when I would try a tiny taste of it, back then compared to margarine I thought it tasted strange. Now though, all I want is real butter and no skimping!
Whoops! Sorry about the little insult. I do respect any diet, as long as those diets are not pushed on me. Do you do it for health? I know it would be beneficial for a lot of disease states, such as diabetes and cancer, but don't see any reason to do it unless there is a condition that needs to be ameliorated.
I eat what most people my age consider to be a tremendous amount of animal protein. Every single day, at least twice a day. A common afternoon snack is a hunk of cold meat, whatever I had cooked the night before. Eggs, yogurt, cheese, even sardines now and then. I've lost my taste for chicken, and have to choke that stuff down if that's all there is.
I guess I just mean I eat meat daily. 😄
I didn't take anything like an insult. I don't ever take things too personal unless someone is talking to me directly and they mean for me too. LOL! It must be awful to be offended by the whole world, which seems to happen to some these days.....but anyway....not me!
I do also have diabetes. Growing up it seemed my Mom always decided the entree (main dish) first (not out loud) and then decided the side dishes or bread or the such that would go with it. The entree was nearly always some sort of meat or included some meat. I suppose I have pretty much done the same along the way. I suppose I do have some meals that are a little meat heavy, depending on what else is here. I also try to have a variety of vegetables & etc, going very low on potatoes, pasta & rice.
I don't eat as much chicken as I used too, but I still try to keep it in the rotation once in a while.
