She left the salon smiling, still feeling strange to leave such a place.

She looked this way and that and walked listening to her heels on the pavement.

The wind cooled her face and for the first time she felt... free.

It had been many months since she had heard from him and several days since she had woken up calmly and not in the midst of one nightmare after another and torturous memories of a life of fear, anguish, beatings, insults.... Violence.

She crossed the street as a man looked at her admiringly and she no longer felt guilty or ashamed.

As she turned the corner thinking about it, a car intercepted her, blocking her way with the door open.

With horror she saw him come down determined to go towards her, she could not react, she could not think, nor scream, all her past life came back in seconds.... .

Paralyzed she saw him smile calmly with his clear and cold eyes.

-I told you that you couldn't leave me. I told you that you were mine and you could only be with me. I told you that I loved you! I said so many things but you-you never listen! You never believed me."

She saw him throw something at her that soaked her whole but she couldn't identify what, she only managed to tell him almost voicelessly to walk away.

He just smiled more ...

With astonishment she watched him take out his lighter, the one she gave him for a birthday, she saw the small flame and only then she realized her own gasoline smell... all over her body...

The restraining order, the change of city, leaving everything behind, had been of no use.

He would be the one who would have the last word as always, who would end all his "love" in a flame.
