Does Our Parents' Blessings Make A Wedding Successful.

Hello Dpollers and Steemians,
Sorry i've been a little inconsistent this days with less posts on my blog. I've been preparing for Christmas. Cooking with my mum and decorating our home to entertain visitors.

I'm quite confused right now. My big sister, Beauty from another wedding brought her boyfriend over to see her parents to officially introduce her Man to her parents. They loved him because he was very humble and kind in his words but before he left, Beauty's Mum told h that if he takes her daughter to his parents for official introduction and they don't accept her probably because of the tribe difference and all that, she wouldn't let him marry her daughter.

I was curious why she said so and i decided to ask my Momma for full explanation. My mum said a young once tool his fiance to his parents but they didn't approve of the girl because they wanted him to marry a girl from the same tribe with them, the boy was very headstrong and told his family he was going to marry the girl with or without their consent so his mum pretended to like the girl and so they got married.

Few months later, the girl died. The boy was very curious to find the cause of his wife's death because she wasn't ill at all and later found out it was his mum who killed the girl because he had earlier warned him not to marry the girl. My mum also said it has happened in several situations. While i prayed to God for the parents of Big sister's boyfriend to accept her, i'm still wondering what about people whose parents are dead and couldn't give their blessings to their children before kicking the bucket, Are they boy still with their partners?. Well i think out parents shouldn't have a say in whom we want to spend the rest of our lives with just because of the difference in our tribe.

Does our parents blessings make our married life last?

I would say that the parent's blessing is a great motivation for a couple to pursue their marriage. This is not to say that the success of their wedding rely on the blessing, it still depend on on the commitment of the couple. Without the parent's blessing it might not be as successful or as fulfilling as the one that it have.

What you don't know is bigger than you. There are spirits, blood ties, stories u dnt know. You don't just wake up and do anything you like because of love. This is not Indian, Korean or Philipine movie.
