Y'all may remember that I went to extraordinary lengths to save many of my plants from damage from the winter chill temps.
Every since about March this year once I'd moved everything out, the room was pitch black with a dehumidifyer running.
Fast Forward to now, and the Irish Moss Saga. I apparently started too late this year and most folks were sole out of the full grown things.
I DID get seeds, that say to germinate in flats before trying to put them out.

Those seeds are tiny, more like dust
I did make a cardboard thing with plastic to hold moisture and had it sitting on the retaining wall in the sun, but there was no way I could keep it moist all the time.
Then!

I had an AHAH moment.
I had this green house with growlights just sitting there unused, so...
TADA!
The lights are on a timer/remote switch, there is a fan running to keep the air moving, and it gets quite warm out there during the day.
The dehumidifier is off now.
I am hoping that I will get some results from this, because I can't afford to keep trying to get the adult plants.
One 1 quart container from Amazon cost me $20, I got the last ones that Pike's Nursery in Marietta had at $7.99 per container

I put those last containers in the ground this morning. I have one more bag of soil to help fill in and level the stones, but I really need these plants to take hold and help anchor everything in place
I started watering the patio this morning as well

In other news, I harvested my first ever Zuccini this morning!

I plan to get that first cucumber this evening. I'm puzzled why I'm not finding more of them, but the vines are running out across the lawn now so there is still time

Wow dearest sir, you're really putting in the effort with your beautiful garden🥰 Those tiny seeds can be a challenge, but your setup with the lights and fan sounds promising. Wishing you the best of luck with the Irish Moss 🙏🥰
Thanks
You're most welcome dear sir
The preparation for your perfect retirement garden looks wonderful, :) I am sure this grass will look very beautiful once it is completely set.

Sending Love and Ecency Vote!
Thank you @untilwelearn
When will we know if the greenhouse is working?
And how long will you have yo wait to have adult Irish Moss, if it does work?
The seed packet says they will germinate after 14 days or so.
Look closely
That was the tray that had been outside all that time, I have two more trays, one with Irish Moss and the other with a flowering variety, THAT one has already germinated.
I just went out to check, even the newer tray of Irish Moss is germinating
