Scarcity, Competition & Survival

I used to say that things like being successful is delicate and this is because it requires constant work, a drive, an ability to stay efficient and productive. This is because of competition, the sky is getting smaller and people cannot cement their space, their patent or emblem and go into a saturation stage and not experience massive decline.

This is because people who already are dominating wants more space, so if people are expanding beyond their space into the territory of others, it means that wanting more wealth or more riches inadvertently creates scarcity of opportunities. Sometimes in the world, people are meant to believe that there's scarcity, but the world has enough. This is how you can interpret the concept that "the sky is big enough for everyone to fly" naturally, relating this to common sense. As much as the number of people go in the world, the sky is still endless.

The Space To Dominate

This means that originally, the earth has enough to cater for this population, in fact death rate is always leveling the playing field, in Nigeria for example, birth rate is dwindling because people are firstly thinking of the cost of starting a family unlike how it used to be in the past. The hot chase for a better life has become so paramount because of so many popular trends.

The concept of Financial freedom now sells better than many other things. People would pay to actually listen to the shortest and quickest ways to make money rather than actually work. So this creates a vacuum. Young women are finding the best ways to monetize their beauty in places where their intellectual abilities cannot put money in their bank account.

Resources & Population

It further creates a challenge, the fact that people cannot naturally cash in on their talents, their abilities or degrees makes or creates a certain kind of scarcity. This means that the people in charge of disbursing these opportunities or distributing them according are hoarding them. Selling it to the most capable or the most desperate. Take a look at popular reality TV show big brother Naija.

Like 85% of Nigerians are mentally, physically and Financially keyed into it, but the people who are actually on the show are actual wealthy business people from all over the world. The selection process is like thinning the herd, the demographs to a particular set of people who are considered to be the most important... More like an advanced form of oligarchy, where only few people are judged to matter more. The true wealth of this reality TV SHOW is of course that population they deem "not to matter", it creates a struggle for the survival of the fittest

The way the world is designed creates psychological scarcity. A person born Into wealth is deemed to carry on, truth is, poverty is a killer of potentials. Unfair distribution is not even what i'm talking about. What I'm referring to here is the fact that the world and the people that seem to run it have mostly created scarcity as a weapon to incentivize demand to the fullest degree, it's why some people are just so wealthy it takes almost nothing to take them away from that position.

When wealth becomes too insurmountable, it only means there's playing dirty to actually get there. By monetizing people's data without their permission or tipping them is ripping and a logical kind of theft, Google is playing dirty to stand at a wealthy perspective, if an Intelligence agency wants to maybe acquire these data, they pay.

Scarcity & Manipulation

Scarcity creates the need for demand and the process through which it's manipulated, is why we have price fluctuations without regulations in free markets such as the Nigerian commerce. Scarcity causes inequality. When the price for let's say fuel increases sporadically due to a manipulation or rioting, politicians and people who are deemed to be important gets their own ration with the same prices, but the common people are the target audience for those price manipulations.

This is why the most African countries do not grow. Their citizens are outbidded, scarcity creates competition when there shouldn't be none. People who are proud to stand scarcity after outbidding others are proud of their achievements.

Like I said earlier, the world's resources is big enough, many in charge are making it seem untrue, just so they can take advantage of the panic that comes with scarcity. The unavailability of, let's say bread in bakeries due to power outage, makes retailers triple the price of bread they have in their stock and create further scarcity due to greed. This means people take advantage of things they can control to create chaos in prices. It doesn't stem in channel of distribution alone. It begins from having the power or the means to distribute at one's disposal.

You know, I appreciated your writing style. Honestly if it wasn't for a free course I recently purchased and enjoyed. I probably would have never noticed how you form your sentences. I like the flow of your writing, it's beat flows as it's being read. The course I recently listen to was how to create long sentences. If it wasn't for the fact that I finished it recently, and admitting that you can probably tell I need to listen to it over again. I honestly would have questioned the length of the sentences. Your writing gave me a new appreciation for that course, because it provided a nice example of what the lecturer was trying to describe.

In terms of your subject matter, I think that by recognizing what's going on around you. It gives you a view that few see, and having that view you can use it to set an example for others to follow. With that view you can avoid some of the pitfalls, and as others see you move forward. They'll want to do the same, and may even be inspired to do things differently. I love your post thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I myself have come to master how to write and appreciate longer and shorter sentence, and how best it can create certain effect in a write-up, at least to an intemidiate level. I am glad that you found relevance with this, in relation to a course you are listening to. Thank you so much for dropping by.

Definitely, the difference is exactly what matters and sometimes it inspires even me the writer to do things differently.

The people in charge will never want to give up power but I do think we have an abundance in the world. With technology improving and its ability to make more things with less, I do think that things will change eventually. For example if we could just 3D print at a lower price than what it is sold, those people would naturally lose out on money and maybe go bankrupt.

That little reduction will go a long way. I do not think we have abundance too, I only say that we have enough, enough is different from having surpulus and I think managing it properly can make a lot of difference.

They will not be in charge forever. Their power structure is already starting to break down.

Technology is changing this equation rather rapidly. It will take more than a decade to filter throughout the entire world but a lot of good things are happening.

The more that goes digital, the more that we are dealing with abundance.

Exactly, if not for digitization I guess the field cannot be levelled, people are creating a whole new way to actually create wealth and crypto has helped the common man a whole lot more, I couldn't but see this phenomenon and that's why I kinds of concerns me.

As more people find it, we will see a lot more expansion. That will start the process of inclusion.

The wealth of the world are in the hands of a few.
The rich become richer the poor poorer and those in the middle bear the brunt.
Economy of each country depends on the level of corruption at the top.
Interrupt power supply, jack up the prices up and let the poor get poorer.
Sadly we play into the hands of these rich.
How many poor people does these Big Brother shows feed?
Why do they waste time watching these stupid reality shows when their ground reality is so pathetic?
I never understand these people.
For the rich time is money - for the poor time is entertainment. The disparity is right there.

How many poor people does these Big Brother shows feed?

Even if they don't, that's fine, but it's the modern era, if things like big brother were tokenised then even the vivid fan can benefit from their wealth by actively being involved, they can create s series of wealth for themselves. But nothing.

Isn't that so sad ? They amass wealth and our expense and we keep giving our resources and time away for nothing.

True. There is enough sky to fly around for everyone.
There are enough opportunities if people are willing to look. Especially, internet has made it possible to learn and earn from a different part of the world.

I often wonder, if it was more difficult for people to change their circumstances before internet.

There was no easy access to information, or connection to people.

You only know about things around you. Born in poverty, you only know poverty.

Sure, it was difficult for most. But I am sure, people who were willing enough, made their way even back then.

It's the willingness to change your life that counts right. From scarcity mindset to abundance.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts🙂

Taskmaster basically emphasised this too. With the internet, people are no longer going to look up to this system, they'll have better opportuinities with things like crypto and blockchain including other crypto projects with amazing opportunities. Thanks for dropping by.

if a wealthy person swaps places with a poor person, nothing changes, because the newly-rich person will behave just like the one before him. that's how our species behaves. whoever is more evolved than that can't change others enough to make a dent in the situation, because having a positive effect takes a lifetime, but it's ruined in a second.

It's not really about the wealth per say or about the rich and poor, I understand your angle, nevertheless its about those in charge and those that are responsible for the maniplulation that brings about scarcity.

scarcity of what exactly? health services? food? hygiene? if so, people can fix that themselves most of the time, as long as they have access to the internet. but people don't look it up. that's where most of the scarcity comes from

I created a vivid scene with "bread production" in the post, that act of causing artificial scarcity makes up for Manipulation of which many can suffer from. People don't want to fix anything, they want to do things that will be advantageous to their pockets only this sort of action is what I'm basically emphasising on.

yes, and you're right, I'm not disagreeing. I'm just adding something on top

"where there's a will (and internet access), there's a way"

Competition, including artificial competition, is the wife of capitalism. It can be reduced (not defeated) by means of centralization, which is possible under socialism. However, having spent my childhood in a socialist state, I can say that the presence of centralization leads to a deficit. At first glance, a hopeless situation. However, competition opens up talents. But probably when this is an unhealthy process and a large % of the population suffers from it, the price for talent turns out to be too high

Very well explained sir, I've also read about what you've written here.

The world is big enough, the resources and more than enough and the psychological scarcity is biting in deep,we all want a way out.
Many Nigerian believe that its by migrating out of the country, people are always on the move without killing the moth eating their tree from the root.

What is the way out of this mess.
I read this yesterday and had to go over it again thinking about what went wrong or how we came to this stage.
