Kagurazaka Saryo 神楽坂茶寮 is a Japanese chain restaurant specialising in great Matcha flavoured desserts. There are a dozen outlets in Japan and a new overseas outlet recently opened in Vivocity here in Singapore.
We visited the restaurant over the weekend for a quick dinner. First, let's take a look at the menu.
Being a Japanese Matcha teahouse, Kagurazaka Saryo offers a wide range of Matcha related desserts. From pancakes to fruits platter, and of course all kind of Matcha beverages.
We ordered the Chanabe set meals that come in classy ceramic pot, coupled with a really nice mashed potato that looks like vanilla ice cream.
This is Shio (salty flavoured) Soba with Salmon. The base soup is light and goes really well with the soba and salmon.
But this same set in Miso soup is much better with its thick and flavourful base. The soba noodles are thick and not too chewy.
The shop decor has a very Japanese look with the use of wood and earth colour. Seating capacity were quite limited though, expect a longer waiting line during peak hours.
Kagurazaka Saryo specialty are the Matcha desserts, and we will make sure to visit again to try them out in future.
