Sharing A Band We Met At Rebellion (Three Tune Tuesday)

in Music3 years ago

For this weeks Three Tune Tuesday, I thought I would share a couple of songs from a band we came across at Rebellion. It was such a good weekend, and being introduced to so much new music from around the world, and also meeting some new friends was really cool.

The Shit Talkers were a lot of fun to chat with, and they had the best icebreaker I'd heard. The drummer of the band came up to us with a small leaflet thing and asked if we liked Punk Rock, and on the leaflet thing it had their band name and the time they were playing. We didn't think of doing that at all, but it was such a good idea to get talking with people and let them know what time you're playing.

We went over pretty blind this year, but if we get asked back for next year's one we'll have a bunch of ideas and also ways to save a bit of money.

The Shit Talkers - Canadian Peasant

This one is brilliant and seeing it live was great, instantly I was thinking that it would be a good one to maybe do a cover of.

While chatting with them, I mentioned potentially doing a cover of one of theirs and they could do one of our songs which I think would be a great way of getting out there a bit. We don't really have a big online following, but at least by doing a cover, we may be able to put more people onto them.

I'm going to reach out to them in a few days and send some videos we got of their set, and mention potentially learning and recording a version of this one in our own style and see what they think, or if they have a suggestion for another song to do instead.

The Shit Talkers - All My Friends

Here's a really catchy one, and they played it in their set at the Festival and I think it's funny, and I thought it would be a pretty good one to maybe do a cover of.

They're such a good craic to hang out with, and when I was speaking with them about how much it cost them to get over to do the festival they said it was like 1,400 per ticket over but they traveled to Germany first and they went on a bit of a tour. It made total sense because I was thinking that coming all that way just for one festival would have been a bit too much, but at least they made it worth their while being able to play a bunch of gigs while they were over here.

The Shit Talkers - Talk Yourself Up

This one has a good rhythm to it and is a bit of fun. I don't think they played it in their set, but I came across it on their channel.

I think everyone needs to be able to talk themselves up now and again, I usually don't do it but sometimes I think it's needed to just get a bit of pep in your step.

You have shared nice sounds
I love them!
The last one sounded like Bruno Mars

Eyy, nice songs. I love it’s beat and rhythm. 🥰

I like these! Very raw, like some good rock should be. Awesome stuff. Speaks to the Canadian in me, too.

Shit Talkers eh.... Sounds like something a group of Irish lads would call their band, rather than Canadians. These guys are good man, and sounds like they are pretty cool as well, from what you were saying. Great idea as well to both cover a song, so ye can both help to get each others names out there overseas.
