My parents are from the pacific region where Taro (both the root and the leaves) are a staple food source. What's unusual is growing it here in New Zealand, but upon research not only is it allowed but people are growing it successfully. This is my brothers attempt. He said every now and then he finds leaves have been removed without first asking for permission, but he said its OK as this grows really well and supply is far greater than need.
