Good evening, Hive! The night is coming to a close and I’m set for a big day tomorrow. As soon as I wake up, I have an electrician coming to install the 240V outlet and charger for the Model Y. It’ll be in my garage, which should alleviate any and all issues with the transition to an EV. The next step is to talk to @lovejoy about how to set up a miner to utilize that voltage for time that isn’t spent charging the Tesla. @ghostfish and I are going on a winter adventure immediately after the install. We’re heading north for a two day writer’s retreat. Will document along the way.

Tonight, I dug in to the archives to a shoot from before the pandemic in Los Angeles. I met with my long time Vicky for a collaboration at the Gable’s estate hidden away in La Cañada. I met Vicky in 2014. She booked a session during NOIR, an all inclusive Old Hollywood black and white photography event I used to hold annually in New York, Minneapolis and Los Angeles. Our shoot that first time was great, but she booked with me several times during returning trips to the west coast, and that’s how we became friends beyond the usual client/photographer relationship.

As my photography improved, her modeling evolved. She gained confidence and began shooting with other LA based photographers, but we always seem to have a special chemistry and it was captured whenever we’d shoot together. For several years we lost touch, but reconnected in 2019. We decided we should meet up for one more shoot just for nostalgia’s sake, and the photos seen here were the result. I spent most of the night editing these three gems that were somehow overlooked during my last past through the shoot.

That’s one of the things that I love most about Hive. There is a perpetual incentive for artists to create. When faced with a night without something on deck to share and write about, the reward incentive and encouragement of my friends and creator community is enough to make me find something to write about. In this case, it was the motivation to rediscover images that otherwise would lay dormant on a buried HD for a decade. I’ll always be grateful for that kind of positive creative energy that comes from contributing on Hive.

Nice shots as always. That is awesome that you are getting the charging station installed. Like you said, I am sure that will alleviate a lot of your stress. Knowing that you can be topped off and have a couple hundred mile distance each day is pretty awesome.
