How often do we find ourselves in a place where three borders meet? Have you ever visited such a location? I had my first opportunity to do so last week during the long June weekend. We went on a family trip, and one of the places on our itinerary was the TRIPOINT in JAWORZYNKA.
It is here that the borders of three countries — Poland, Czechia and Slovakia — meet at a single point. Interestingly, this is one of only a few places in Europe where the borders of three nations converge in one location. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, but for many years it served primarily as a border and administrative point.
Jak często jesteśmy w miejscu, w którym spotykają się aż trzy granice? Czy byliście kiedykolwiek w takim miejscu? Ja po raz pierwszy miałam taką okazję w zeszłym tygodniu podczas długiego czerwcowego weekendu. Wybraliśmy się wtedy na rodzinną wycieczkę, a jednym z punktów na naszej mapie był właśnie TRÓJSTYK w JAWORZYNCE.
To tutaj w jednym miejscu spotykają się granice aż trzech państw: Polski, Czech i Słowacji. Co ciekawe, jest to jedno z zaledwie kilku miejsc w Europie, gdzie granice trzech krajów stykają się w jednym punkcie. Dzisiaj jest to popularna atrakcja turystyczna, jednak przez wiele lat miejsce to pełniło przede wszystkim funkcję graniczną i administracyjną.
We reached the site by car and were able to park very close to the attraction. As far as I know, there are several hiking trails leading to the tripoint, as the meeting point of the three borders is located on a small hill. However, since we were travelling with both young children and senior family members, we chose the more comfortable option, which was also the safer one for some of them.
Today, the tourist area is very well developed and offers both recreational facilities and places to eat. Visitors can find walking paths, rest areas, two restaurants, a playground for children, and even a brine graduation tower. Thanks to this, it is a place where you can not only visit the exact point where the three borders meet, but also spend some time relaxing and enjoying the surroundings in whatever way you prefer.
Na samo miejsce dotarliśmy samochodem i mogliśmy zaparkować naprawdę bardzo blisko atrakcji. Z tego, co się orientuję, do Trójstyku prowadzi kilka szlaków turystycznych, ponieważ punkt styku granic znajduje się na niewielkim wzniesieniu. Jednak ze względu na to, że podróżowaliśmy z małymi dziećmi oraz seniorami, zdecydowaliśmy się na wygodniejszą opcję, która dla niektórych okazała się również bezpieczniejsza.
Obecnie teren wokół Trójstyku jest bardzo dobrze zagospodarowany i oferuje zarówno zaplecze rekreacyjne, jak i gastronomiczne. Znajdziemy tutaj ścieżki spacerowe, miejsca do odpoczynku, dwie restauracje, plac zabaw dla dzieci, a nawet tężnię solankową. Dzięki temu jest to miejsce, w którym można nie tylko zobaczyć sam punkt styku granic, ale również spędzić trochę czasu na spacerze, odpoczynku i podziwianiu okolicy. To idealne miejsce na rodzinny wypad, podczas którego każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie.
In the area around the tripoint, we can see border markers belonging to Poland, Czechia and Slovakia. Each marker displays the name of the country as well as its national coat of arms. Although the borders between Poland, Czechia and Slovakia can now be crossed freely thanks to the Schengen Area, the border markers still remain important geodetic landmarks.
W okolicy Trójstyku możemy zobaczyć słupy graniczne należące do Polski, Czech i Słowacji. Na każdym słupie możemy znaleźć nazwę państwa oraz jego godło. Choć granice pomiędzy Polską, Czechami i Słowacją można dziś przekraczać swobodnie dzięki strefie Schengen, słupy graniczne nadal pozostają ważnymi znakami geodezyjnymi.
The tripoint itself, meaning the exact point where the borders of these three countries meet, is located beneath this bridge in the stream valley.
Sam trójstyk, czyli dokładny punkt, w którym spotykają się granice tych trzech państw, znajduje się pod tym mostkiem w dolinie potoku.
There were quite a lot of tourists there that day. It is clear that the place attracts plenty of visitors, even though it may not be the most spectacular attraction compared to famous landmarks or mountain peaks. Still, there is something special about it. After all, it is not every day that you can visit three countries without buying plane tickets, waiting in airport queues, travelling hundreds of kilometres or packing your suitcase. I have to admit that this is probably one of the cheapest ways to take an international trip. 😄
Tego dnia było tam naprawdę sporo turystów. Widać, że miejsce to cieszy się dużym zainteresowaniem, mimo że nie jest może spektakularną atrakcją na miarę najwyższych gór czy najsłynniejszych europejskich zabytków. Mimo to ma w sobie coś wyjątkowego. W końcu nie każdego dnia mamy okazję odwiedzić trzy kraje bez kupowania biletów lotniczych, stania w kolejkach na lotnisku, pokonywania setek kilometrów i pakowania walizek. Muszę przyznać, że to chyba jeden z najtańszych sposobów na międzynarodową podróż. 😄
