I have a new batch of beers for this weeks #Beersaturday. Today I'll be reviewing two of them, a farmhouse ale and a blond ale. Let's check them out.
Legacy Canadian Farmhouse Ale

Marketing: The can is a deep navy blue with yellow brass etching. The image feels etched into the sleeve which gives is an interesting raised texture. Its slightly blurry on the eyes though, which erks me just a little. The image is very distinctly Art Deco inspired, which it very cool and part of the reason why I bought it (I'm clearly a sucker for marketing). However, the design doesn't fit the style of beer at all in my opinion. The beer is marketed as a farmhouse ale which brings to mind rural small towns and country landscapes, tractors and barns, but the image is of an opulent golden city metropolis. There is a disconnect there. The two ideas are polar opposites in theme, which almost makes me invision the Great Gatsby selling his mansion in the city and purchasing a small farm where he drinks this beer on his tractor while sowing his fields... it just doesn't make sense.
I really like the can design overall but the brewery would have been smarter to fill it with a golden ale or a blond ale, either of those would have been much more fitting.
Color: The beer is a sort of burnt tumeric color with a good amount of haziness in it and a white head of foam on top that lasted quite a while.
Nose: The beer holds a malty aroma with notes of bread and biscuits. I got some grassy hops coming through as well and a slightly sweet smell of apple.
Taste: Sweet with some sourness that became more pronouced the more I drank it, and a sharp bitter finish that came late but lingered on for a time. There was a fruitiness to it also, maybe apple or pear. It tasted like a spring or fall beer to me.
Texture: Lightly carbonated with soft bubbles and a weighty velvety texture.
Impression: It was a fine beer. I enjoyed it but wasn't in love with it by any means. Near the end it was getting a little too sour for me and for that reason I likely won't buy it again.
Food Truck Blond
Brewery: Henderson Brewing Co
Origin: Lincoln ON Canada
Style: Blond Ale
Abv: 4.8%
IBU: Unknown
SRM: Unknown
Marketing: The can boasts a baby blue with contrasting pale yellow color scheme. The Henderson Brewing Co brand label is displayed prominantly and it has a 1950s style food truck image as well. No additional information is listed about the beer anywhere on the can but overall its a fun design with a vintage look about it. I like it.
Color: The beer poured a golden yellow with a flimsy head that dissipated almost immediately. The liquid had a slight haze to it but overall was very appealing looking.
Nose: A very light bouquet but predominantly a malty aroma of fresh white bread.
Taste: Dry, tangy and bitter. Well balanced. A light fruity quality of apple or pear. Some mild hoppiness came through later.
Texture: Lightly carbonated with small soft bubbles. A mildly weighty mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Good texture.
Impression: This beer didn't have a lot of aroma or taste but I liked it quite a bit. I would say that you could drink several of these in one sitting but there was a somewhat heavy quality about it, so maybe not. It was like liquid bread, though not to the extent of a double bock. It was interesting and I enjoyed it. I would buy it again.

Yeah, its not overly stocked with beer it just appears that way. There's only 8 beers in there that I'll actually drink. They are all just brought to the front of the shelf lol. Its a handy beverage fridge though.

Those both look beautiful. The 20 IBU is right up my alley for the one as well. I'd guess the blonde is probably the same or less than that.
Yeah its a good level of hoppy bitterness. The blond was probably similar, yes.
