Reading an ebook and a physical copy is something that I do as well. I typically have a primary book i read and a secondary or tertiary that I pock away at. I can't do library books either because I dont think that I'd finish them fast enough. Lately i have been reading a lot and quickly though. Thrifting books os great. I always bake them in the oven when I get them home to kill and bed bugs or lice. I have a fear of getting them lol.

I'm the same on the rare occasion I buy second hand books or borrow them from the library, you never know where they've been or how many people have licked their finger to turn the page. It may sound stupid, but I would worry my oven might be contaminated if I bake the book inside. I actually had consider doing it for soil, some say you can bake it or flash it in the microwave to kill off any bugs before planting.
Ive never heard of doing it for soil. Interesting. Makes sense though. For bugs you can put them in a bag in the freezer for 7 days also but its not guaranteed. I believe it has to be -18°C to kill bed bugs
I've never thought of putting them in the oven like that. I'm not a fan of critters either, but it never really occurred to me. I do have a UV cleaner at work, I wonder if that would make a difference.
It might make a difference. I dont know much about UV cleaners. Its probably a low risk to get bugs but I can be paranoid about it lol
