Birthdays are memorable occasions. As we all know, birthdays are filled with gifts, cakes, and many other things. For this reason, I have always celebrated my birthdays in a variety of ways. Spend time with loved ones, receive blessings from parents, spiritual leaders, and more. Let me focus on parents.

Following the birth of my first child, I had a new perspective on birthdays, realizing their importance and significance. Now, I know what my mother endured in order to give birth to me. Since I became a mother, I have felt very emotional and special on my birthdays. The pains, nausea, hormonal changes, and stress of pregnancy were all things my mother had to go through in order to give birth to me. Although it wasn't intentional, I remember puking on my husband during my pregnancy, and he took his time to clean up the mess and even asked me to go relax. Knowing how supportive and caring my husband was when I had my baby, I now celebrate my birthdays with greater appreciation for my parents.
My birthday is today, and I'm both ecstatic and sad because my dad is no longer with us. If both of your parents are still living, take the time to show them how much you value and care for them; they deserve it all.
