Green grasshopper is one of the most common insects that is distributed all around the world except the Antarctica. Often these herbivores look stunning with their great body structure and will catch people's attention easily while feeding on a leaves. These insects are often considered as farmers enemy as they feed on their crops and transmit virus that damages the crops. That's why they are also often known as predatory insects.
These arthropods have a pair of antennae that performs the same functions as sensory organs do in human and other organism like detecting smell and determining the texture of the surface on which they stand and so on. Morphologically, body is divided into head, thorax and abdomen. Three pairs of legs are attached to its thorax: one pair of front legs and 2 pairs of hind legs. The front legs are used for walking in the leaves and other parts of plants whereas the hind legs are used for jumping. Grasshoppers are also known to make excellent high jump. There are two pairs of wings attached to its thorax that help them to fly.
