While I appreciate @libertycrypto27 write up on how to convert steem to hive, reading it was quite confusing since it started with the italian version. Now after following his tutorial, here's the English and simplified version of depositing Steem to Hive-engine.
Step 1
Go to hive-engine and login
Step 2
Click deposit
Step 3
Choose Deposit token : STEEM
Step 4
Click Get Deposit Info
Step 5
Go to your steem wallet and send the steem to receiving account and enter your memo.

hehe yes ! steem-engine is glitchy but I find hive-engine works best and better.
