Memories of a trip through the village of Moragala in the Western Province of Sri Lanka before the restrictions were imposed on travel.

Hello my loving Hivers,

How are you guys? I think you will be doing your home or office duties following the health policies during this epidemic. With the latest wave of the corona epidemic, almost every country is under immense threat. It is bad for everyone, especially to be in a recession. It is a reason to lower people's expectations on all fronts. From the beginning of this month, the government decided to restrict our travel to reduce the spread of corona. I consider it a very important decision because it minimizes the spread of the virus in clusters. However, today's content would like to present to you the details of another lovely trip that took place before the restrictions on travel.

Moragala is the access road from the village of Pitigala in the Galle District to the town of Pelawatta in the Southern Province and from there to Matugama. You can reach Moragala from Mapalagama town as well as Aluthgama town. The village of Moragala is also surrounded by nature and another beautiful space.

The people of this area are mostly villagers who cultivate paddy as their livelihood. It is clear that they are keen to provide water for paddy cultivation along the canals. A villager noted that there is a small reservoir to collect excess water even when the rains are low. But time did not allow me to give it to that place because it was located in a corner of the village. However, the green and golden hues of the surroundings are comforting.

Walking a short distance along the road, we noticed that water had accumulated throughout the paddy fields due to the recent rains. Water is an essential factor for paddy cultivation. Farmers do not expect such a large amount of rain after the seedlings have grown, as this will destroy the paddy plants. Beyond the paddy field, a Buddha statue was still under construction.

After zooming in on the camera on my cell phone, I could see that there was a temple with a Buddha statue still under construction that had not been exposed. The temple could not be seen properly as a coconut grove was located around the area. However, I can conclude that most of the people in this area are Buddhists.

The rain water fell on the paddy fields as well as other trees and was found to be strangely refreshing. The people of the area were also seen rejuvenated by the rains. As it was a rain-free time throughout the past, the tour was a good way to observe how the rain has been a blessing to all.

Going further, we saw a barren paddy field covered with weeds. I could see the cows grazing there. They enjoyed the sunshine very freely and brought in food the way wildlife also lives freely.

A dagoba just beyond the grassy area caught my eye. After zooming in on the camera, I was able to confirm that it was the site of another temple. You can also see the trees around the temple.

As we passed the paddy fields, we came across an area where rubber cultivation, another export crop, has spread. It is not necessary to include further information about rubber cultivation as you know the information about it. The weather is cold near the rubber growing areas. Even the leeches associated with it are more likely to survive the cold weather. I have to end another beautiful trip like this. I bid farewell in the hope of meeting you with another similar visit. Thank you all for reading the content. Have a wonderful day.
