In this report, I cover the early market action from London on Monday, April 1st, 2019. I look briefly at the precious metals, the stock market, the dollar, the bond market, and the energy market.
Today I look at the economic picture around the world. Overnight we have seen some better than expected manufacturing data from China that has driven the stock market higher. I also point out that this week will be an important week for determining the health of the U.S. economy as we see some important data published. The key release will be the BLS's job or non-farm payroll data on Friday.
I also touch upon the floods in the Midwest and how this could be important to the markets and especially the commodities markets.
My conclusion today is that people need to be aware of the fact that the economies in the U.S. and elsewhere around the developed world are not as healthy as portrayed by the powers that be and that we are actually in a world where the tail wags the dog. It's a world in which our monetary and governmental authorities cling on to power by creating false narratives about the economy and the markets.
