Caramel Custard

Had a craving from a very long time for Caramel custard
but didn't get the perfect recipe to make it.
Doubts like will it set like shown, what if it doesn't turn out to be good but nevertheless gave it a try after a recipe that was shared to me by my sister.
Had my sister on video call the entire time and made it.
That's why I don't have pictures of the process.

So here's the recipe 😬
1 and half cup of sugar to be caramalized in a heated pan (till it turns brown)
and then poured into the vessel where u plan to set the caramel custard.
Next in another vessel take 1 and half cup of milk and add 8-10 tsps of sugar
and just when it comes to a boil, add a mixture of custard powder and water (equal ratio)
Here I used 4 spoons of custard powder and half cup of water in a cup.
Add this while stirring the milk simultaneously to avoid clumping.
Next u can add vanilla essence as per ur taste.
Keep on stirring till it becomes a little thick and
then pour it onto the caramalized sugar in the other vessel.
Pour it slowly because the sugar will start crackling on addition of the hot custard.
Cover the vessel with aluminium foil tightly.

Next take a huge vessel and fill it with 1/4th water
and keep a stand or anything that you have inside the vessel,
and put ur caramel custard vessel on top of the stand
and make sure that it's not immersed in water
or else water can spoil the foil wrap and get in the custard.
Keep it on medium flame for 20 minutes.
Then turn off the flame and remove the vessel
and cool it to room temperature.

Once it's cool keep it in the fridge.
Enjoy after 2 hours!

Cool caramel custard
Top it with cherries if u like too.
Try it out ❤️
