As pre-sale for the Chaos Series comes closer I think we should
look at a few things for new players and veterans who plan to buy in bulk regarding what approaches works at getting the best results for pack openings. In game there are a couple of items that will help increase the odds of opening good cards and all players should be aware of and utilize.
Legendary and Alchemy Potions
There are two ways to obtain Legendary and Alchemy potions. The first is in game reward chests. Both daily reward chests and season ending chests has the potion of obtaining both potions.
Out of 100% chance of what is in a reward chest it is 16.5% chance for a legendary potion and 16.5% chance for a alchemy potion. Relatively speaking this is a decent chance of 33% chance of winning a potion when opening a chest.
The second way to obtain potions is directly purchasing them through the in game market. An alchemy by default is 50 dec while a legendary is 40 dec. The price drops as the player's guild level is higher. Similar to purchasing packs is the higher the player's guild the greater the discount in purchasing packs.
Now if you were wondering what the benefits are for using legendary and alchemy potions when opening packs here is a short explanation. Each pack has 5 cards and to increase the chances of opening a legendary and or a gold foil the player will need at least 5 potions of legendary and 5 potions of alchemy. That is for each pack of cards a total of 10 potions to be taking full advantage of increasing your odds to opening a legend and gold foil card.
Snapshot above is directly from peakmonster.com on average prices and odds of rarity drop of Untamed pack opening. Although it is not exact to Chaos it will be the closest we can compare to with what stats is currently available.
Snapshot above is when we incorporate potions when we open packs. Notice the air drop rate for gold foils in all rarity doubled and the legendary nearly doubling in % rate. This is the intent when using potions and how much odds increase to win a legendary or gold foil card.
Conclusions
Sometimes when I try to save some money when spending I do not look at the overall picture and look at the moment at hand. This does not make me realize what I am missing out on for not spending just a little more to get the maximum benefits. The legendary and alchemy potions are good examples.
Per a pack of cards purchase if I do not have any potions the worse case is I am going to have to come up with 500 DEC to purchase 5 legendary potions and 5 alchemy potions. Going rate of DEC currently is $0.0075 per DEC making it $3.75 addition needed to spend when opening the pack.
The initial thought might be to skip spending this amount for the potions but I would not be using the best opportunity of gaining the most out of opening the pack if I do not purchase the potions. Once the pack is open which ever cards are earned is what I have permanently. Why would I not then try to take advantage of getting the best chance of earning the best cards for only an additional $3.75?
If I really wanted to save I may just go with purchasing packs in bulk which gives me a discount and similar purchase potions in bulk for a discount.
One more repeat reminder is that if your in a high level guild you get discount on packs and potions purchases.

What a good read. Thanks for the reminder not to forget looking at the bigger picture. Focusing on the moment is good. But not losing sight of things at a greater scale is also good practice on not to miss put on oppurtunities. I tke it as a life lesson as well even if we are talking about the card game. 🍺
