Vitalik came out recently saying the crypto price draw down was expected. Crypto has have many times since its creation seen significant price drops. What Vitalik ended is very optimistic regarding his expectations of Bitcoin and crypto in general. To paraphrase he is saying current crypto technology is not up to par for its current evaluations.
As the inventor of ETH which is currently second in market cap it is proof that Vitalik is at the top of current crypto innovations. If he thinks even what crypto has done so far today is not operation at its fullest potential then just imagine how much more valuable crypto will be when it does reach its fullest potential!

To long term believers of crypto it should be clear the runway for potential uses of crypto has just started. There will be more crypto can and will accomplish in the future. Just look at its adoption since btc invention to present day digital assets such as NFTs and Defis. There will be more ways to utilize crypto but it will take time to come to fruition.
In real investment world when expectation of growth is large the evaluations for the investments are usually high. We have seen it in tech conglomerates such Google, Facebook , Apple and Amazon to name a few. Think in crypto terms if btc is a trillion dollar in market cap it resembles the big techs. Then ETH definitely has a lot of room to expand in worth if it can reach 1 trillion in market cap. Bottom line if ETH still has a huge potential which is how Vitalik is implying then there is huge potential to stick hodling some ETH.
