I love the holidays because I get to see relatives that I sometimes don't see for months at a time. I have a lot of cousins and great aunts and uncles that love to chit chat, joke around, and have a drink or two. Got a couple people talking about Bitcoin, and took the opportunity to bring up Steem.
My younger cousins got really interested, especially the youngest when he found out it could be a second source of income. I took the time to explain everything and he should be signing up today. Need to follow up.
Essentially this is what we need to be doing, as Steem ambassadors. Spread the word. Get young people involved. Make this go VIRAL.
People need to know there are alternatives to Facebook, and other forms of social media that simply take...and give nothing back. Steemit gives back. It can be superior. It will be superior.

I haven't seen my cousins in really long and I think they'd love to here about the possibilities of cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately I spent all my money perusing this girl instead of visiting fam. Superior alternative to regular social media? I beg to disagree.
Let's assume for the purpose of this post that regular social refers to sites as facebook, twitter, intagram and all. In what way would one say steemit is superior. I am not hating or anything and I believe in the steemit project, but one thing I don't agree to is saying steemit is superior.
Agreed you get tokens for posting quality contents, but the system sadly has been crowded by bots and thousands of fake accounts that are only used to push garbage to peoples faces at the trending page. And that is why I agree with @yallapapi, for this site to go anywhere the superior you mentioned, good contents most be promoted, and yes @memesteemit is doing a good promoting it by word of mouth.
But we need more, as at present I haven't seen anywhere a content from this site was presented as the answer to a search result. If you think of Google, most of the searches that brings people here is when you type 'steemit' itself in Google.
We keep steeming though, regardless of the current situation.
Good job, word of mouth is the most powerful sustainable advertising we need and you seem to be wearing the Steem Diplomatic jacket quite nicely too.
