If I was to write on this prompt sometime last year, I'd have been more excited to share my view because I was actively utilizing my HBD to earn passively. Even though I didn't get much from it, it was always exciting to claim my monthly interest and sometimes I'll reinvest it for higher interest.
But as at the time of writing this, I've stopped prioritising HBD and it's benefits. It's mainly because I've been having more expenses than earnings nowadays and the removal of HBD payouts from daily rewards made it even more difficult so I don't have HBD staked for rewards.
But yeah, I do agree that HBD is one of the most powerful asset on Hive and I would always prefer to save for interest as much as I can if I had the opportunity. One of the things I've learned recently is how to intentional invest a certain percent regularly and it's way better than saving.
But another thing I've learnt is, you can't just invest with no plan or no knowledge of what you're investing into. You also can not invest when you can't save, good thing is that HBD savings removes the risk of loss in one's investment and also helps for passive income.
Personally, I'd love to invest more going forward and I can't wait for me to explore that aspect more intentionally but until then, I'm more on the team of those who convert my HBD to Hive for expenses. It won't be for long, I plan to go back to investing as I do it before, for passive income.
