I just got on Steemit because the censorship on my YouTube Channel is so blatant that it won't be long before every independent thinker gets banned (or shadow banned) on YouTube. I usually make math video tutorials but after diving into some politics and "controversial" topics, I felt the full might of the thought police.
Also disturbing is the overall fake "Trending" videos that are so clearly artificially promoted by the powers-that-shouldn't-be on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc., that it was clear that the thoughts and ideas of people at large are not actually being shown, but rather purposely being manipulated. Case in point is this video by the propaganda news outlet PBS that has only 40k views, a high downvote ratio, it's comments DISABLED, and was somehow "Trending" on YouTube: 
They aren't even trying anymore...
The Russian scare propaganda, chemical attack false flag, and race-baiting agendas are only just a few examples of the evil "elites" plan to divide us and drive us to war, even another world war. This is only possible through our consent, which is why they artificially censor and manufacture our consent. An actual platform for an uncensored free-market of ideas will not only prevent major conflicts, it will also unite us to throw the corrupt politicians we "elect" underneath the jail.
While I am still a bit skeptical that Steemit truly is an uncensored and merit-based free-market, and will continue to do so in the distant future, the idea of it being one is why I am here and why everyone should as well.

While Steemit.com is privately run and can be censored, the STEEM blockchain can not be.
hmmm interesting. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. Please let me know if the following is accurate:
Steemit is on the Steem blockchain.
Steemit can be censored but Steem can not.
Steem will record any censorship that occurs?
I'm new to all of this, so it would be great if you can elaborate just a bit more. :)
STEEM is a blockchain.
Steemit.com is a service by Steemit Inc. that let's you access the STEEM blockchain and make transactions and read content etc...
Steemit.com could decide to hide content, but can not delete it from the STEEM blockchain.
( You could then use other services or apps to access that data )
The blockchain is publicly accessible.
The code for the blockchain can be reviewed at github.
